I do think that the series has potential for more seasons OR it could just end after Season 8. HOUSE lasted a long time and it was still interesting up until the end. With the proper writers, this could apply to Dexter as well. I admittedly just became a Dexter fan a few months ago (..and I borrowed seasons 1 through 5 and watched them in a matter of a month or so. I recently purchased all 6 seasons on DVD), and I regret having slept on this show for so long. My bad!

Dexter is ending in season 8. That's apparently written in stone (which is awesome IMO). If a show has a definite end date, you don't have writers scrambling at the last minute to come up with ideas (ie Supernatural, which was SUPPOSED to end in 5 seasons, but is now in season 8 and is AWFUL). Dragging out a series ruins it in most cases. Just my $0.02.

Can't wait to see how Dexter will wrap up in the end!

^ True that Supernatural doesn't have the shine it did a few seasons ago, but also very interested in seeing where they go with this season's storyline.

That show only goes in ONE direction: BROMANCE!! Every damn episode is so full of bromance I keep thinking these 2 f@gs should just fvck and get it over with, brothers or not! It's the same thing every episode. I used to really enjoy that show, but ever since they "beat the devil", it's been awful.

The scene where Dexter mocks the muscle head right before he ends him was slow clap worthy.

"Everything is in my control!"

This was a pretty tense moment. Toward the end of the episode, Deb was starting to turn the corner. One of the best episodes yet in regard to storyline.

I started busting up after I watched that scene. I like where this is going now. The first couple of episodes were good but E04 had me engaged the entire time like the older seasons.

+1 Great episode! It's like they are slowly bringing Deb around to being ok and supportive of Dexter. Pretty soon, she'll be covering for him.

This was EPIC. I thought I was weird for finding it funny (thought perhaps it was supposed to be an intense moment rather than comical) but DAYUM it was funny.

Speltzer was a GREAT villain and the maze/bull thing made for a really intense episode (when Dexter was in the "super maze" it was probably one of the more intense moments mid season of the show to date).

Burning Speltzer with the slides... thank goodness he did so. Now the cops won't have something to look for to tie him to the potential bay harbor butcher stuff.

Very good point. The Russian's fingerprints are all over the boat though.. so if they are tagged as baddies, it could be dex's saving grace.

Intern was fired right before he was killed so no one at the department would miss him. I hope that isn't what brings Dexter down, I want him to go out better than that.

Michael Hall apparently added that part during that take. He is such a good actor....

The intern is gone. Masuka fired him, Jamie dumped him and he has no family in the show. Nobody in the show is going to notice hes gone. Also, the Ukrainians aren't messy, they would have cleaned that up.

And, for some reason they do find blood and try to pin it on Dexter. Deb knows bullet are not his style.

Which makes him prime for being what gets him caught, something you wouldn't assume. I hope it just makes Dexter work to fix it like some of the past seasons where he had to avoid getting caught.

Great episode, and I love the babysitter, Aimee Garcia.

Love how this season is panning out so far.

The writers have a penchant for leading the audience down the wrong path, and pulling Dexter's feet from the fire at the last possible moment, through either blind luck or happy coincidences. I don't see Dexter getting "caught" (as in "convicted and serving time"), but as "caught but getting away with it," possibly with Deb's wholehearted (by then) support, on the last episode. How else could they go into future Dexter movies?

And just how would blood drops (not spatter) determine how the wound was inflicted, whether knife, bullet, 2-by-four, or punch to the nose?

Great show...
