If you really want to drift...
Sell your car
Buy a 240sx
Put a tin can muffler on
Drift on dark mountain roads, living the dream of a professional drifter until you crash through a guardrail and total your new high performance (hehe) drift machine

Why do you need a 240sx? Because race car.
At least you wont be ruining an e46.

Also, what do you think of the chances of a 323i drifting in even 2nd at that speed...is it possible to break loose in 3rd with M3 3.64 diff?

There is a 'gear chart' somewhere that lists the speeds of different diffs somewhere.

I don't think he'd be able to drift in more than 2nd, unless it was really wet...or could he?

:Links to drifting fails: haven't seen them in a while!

Not sure I attached this correctly. But, perfect for OP to view. It's a bmw, very young driver, but this drifter here must have had it up to maybe 25...whoa. 30 sec runs...in a KMart lot or something.

It made him look really stupid. Great, he needs new tires, but didn't hit anything.

Stupidest looking thing I've ever seen. OP, watch F1 next race. What this is, is just lame, even for teenagers.

Not cool...stupid looking. Is this your dream? No one will think it awesome you do this. Please make another dream.

Want me to help with that? Done?

He may need to wait for the first snowfall..........

He may make the car more likely to under steer with the LSD, that would require suspension/tire/wheel changes to change the default BMW designed in under steer to over steer (not a good or safe choice for a daily driver)

Honestly, my last chance with you OP.

Watch F1 racing...better...search for some of my friends racing vids here...there are some great ones on local tracks. Guys here on the Nurbergring in a 323i beating much faster cars because they can handle what the car can do.

There's your dream. Return the M diff, spend all that money on one weekend getting a lesson and driving on the track...or just a driving school.

You'll have fun, not have to do anything with your car, won't look gheyish (no offense gay people...you know what I mean!), and you'll acquire a skill set that might actually save, rather than take your life.

No one understands me here, OP...it's sad. That makes it so lonely for me that once a night, I try to find someone to waste my time with. Unfortunately for you, I was awake when you wrote!

Your car is made to drive at high speeds safely on the autobahn, autostrade, in unregulated strips out west, or at tracks. You can have lots of fun.

You have to watch the vids...search 'racing' in advanced search. If you can't find any, let me know...Guys...who's got a race vid to show this guy?

It's really bad that I think it's so funny also! All I can say for my part is that I felt I needed to try.

...and I also think he needed the thugs to help him see how not cool it would be perceived by those whose opinion he solicited.

I'm glad he wrote and felt comfortable enough sharing with us...I'd protect him as best I could if he returned.

Mostly, I hate hearing how little this car is valued by some. E46 turned into a BBQ grill is coming...I see it now!

And sad that few will know what a great car this is!
