Quick HID Ballast placement question, please help!
Hey guys,
I would certainly consider myself a novice in the tuning business, and I could really use some help from someone more experienced. I'm doing a retrofit to hid from halogen, and instead of mounting the ballasts, i've shoved them into some metal molding of the body. Don't really know what to call it, but there are some pictures below. They're right behind the corner lights. My question is, would this be good place for the ballasts? I had to clean out a lot of dirt before I put the ballasts in which leads me to believe that when it rains, water runs down this passage way. The ballasts are water proof but I want to be as preventative as possible. I figured taking out the corner lights is not to difficult so it should be easy enough to get to if I ever need to, and there is quite a bit of tension so it's definitely not going any where in there. And everything stays completely hidden ![]() Please help! ![]() |

You can mount it any where. Just try and put it in a spot were it wont vibrate so much. I wouldnt put it there for the fact that it looks like it might drop.

Is vibration bad for it? I'd imagine it vibrating a bit because its pretty much one with the body of the car.
I don't think its gonna drop tho, its pretty stuck in there. I would literally have to pry it out with tools to get it out. |

seems fine to me i guess. i normally just put it on the bumper reinforcement bar. that is exposed to the elements as well. but i make sure everything else is water tight light the connections to and from the car and bulbs. other than that, should be fine.
