AW Build Thread | Now, this is a story...

all about how my car got twisted, turned upside-down...

Now to the story of how I got her...

She is a 2004 BMW 325i base model sedan. nothing spectacularly special. I was blessed to receive her when I was 17 and I couldn't be any happier to have her as my first car thanks to my awesome father who got her for a great deal right before the E90s came out in 04. Through her early life, she was basically a garage queen, only seeing the light of day when she was allowed to be driven to church on sundays and to LA if my dad needed to drive to work. Once I got my hands on her, everything changed...

No more of this boring pre-modbug-bite story, and on to some pictures.

when I received her (2007)

Canyon Run with a couple of friends after a tint job 15% front 20% rear

2008/2009
Finally after a job with a special office, I gathered up the funds to buy some clears and Angel eyes

At school with my buddy's Grandfather's Bentley

Then a Rogue Engineering Ikon Exhaust

Some artsy-fartsy pictures and lunch with friends

Then she received a younger bigger brother (bro-status)

and Finally after some savings VMR VB3 18x8.5 +40 Front 18x9.5 +45 Rear w/ Michelin Pilot Sports A/S (forgot the sizes) 4x4 status trying to copy her younger brother

2010
Then a big tragedy happened... I hit a tire on the freeway coming home from LA one night and this is what happened. Thankfully, nothing important was damaged.

Then this happened...

Finally, 4x4 delete mod with KW V2

Roof Rack

More low with friends and Rolled Fenders thanks to w0w

2011
I picked up some 16s for a with a good deal and used one as a spare because I sold all my stockies (set of 5)

slapped them on and took them out for a spin

Damn dude, well done.

Not really sure if I'm digging the wheels, but you car height can definitely pull it off.

to be completely honest, I'm not either, when I took them apart and discovered that they were either 1 piece replica or welded together, I just gave up on trying to polish the lips and faces so I just removed all the hardware and rattle-canned them.

they will be my spare set since I dont have a full spare and I travel from Socal to Norcal and back for school. it will do until I monger up the money for a set of respectable wheels.

as for the ride height, I SCRAPE EVERYWHERE. I hit the road reflectors and love hearing my undercarriage scrape the man-made vehicle trails.

EDIT: Sorry I didn't thank you for the first comment... Thanks Brandon.

Well done...add me to the list of "kinda diggin the white wheels". Nice to see someone sporting some smaller ones, helps set it apart IMHO.

I will get flamed for this but, IMO....

caniRuined the car. I don't get the whole canibeat "I drive a BMW but am a wanna-be VW" mentality. Love the look of the car infinitely more with the CSLs.

Again, I know I'm probably the only one who feels this way but just my two cents. I can't help think VW when I look at the car as it currently sits.

Not hating, just my thoughts.. and hell, at any point you can easily go back to 19's so it's not like this is a big slap in the face

Liked it up until the 16s. But I do like how slammed it is. Getting dropped should have been your first mod. You went back to ambers? Your next steps should be painting the trunk, m3 mirrors, body molding and projectors.

To each his own. and 16s are only temp/summer wheels. I cant drive this low in Norcal. roads are terrible. once the semester starts, it'll be back on 18s with one 16 as spare.

projectors on the way, i'm never painting my moldings (planning on selling the CSL V1. splitter mounts are broken and I'm not feelin' it all that much anymore, but we'll see) , M3 mirrors are a maybe, and the trunk will be vyniled eventually. As for the Ambers, sidemarkers were yellowing and it looks better with ambers in the front.

I love the meaty 16's, it's refreshing to see people running wheels other than the usual LM, CSL reps.

Your current look is clean, A+
