I just lol'd because he claimed to have pulled the trigger on this a year and a half ago, then claimed a year later he was waiting to debut the work, and there's still been no updates.

I'd say we give him the benefit of the doubt. For development, molds, refinements, then install and paint, I could see the whole process for three pieces taking this long.

I'd also like to see some teaser pics to prove or confirm something as well though..

You're new here, so I'll let you in on a secret. This wouldn't be the first time someone made a thread like this with big promises, then claims he's going through with it, then never comes back.

REALLY!? i never knew how a forum worked (hehe) - i find stuff like that to be common place. Maybe i hoped the BMW world would be different

Yah i know.

I would like something to substantiate his claims, but im an optimist. glass half full kinda guy. give someone the benefit of the doubt until they give me reason not to.

At least when you spend thousands on a super charger you can quantify the money spent immediately.
And then you talking about cutting my roof off to install a carbon fiber one and changing hoods and trunks seems a bit much.
If you building a track monster with 600 hp and you need to lose the weight to gain a few tenth's...ok, but I'm gonna spend thousands to make my car lighter for fuel economy and a little bit of power?

I don't know this for sure but aren't there companies that already make these parts?
Please don't think I am trying to start an argument, I'm not.
Horspower Freaks, one of the site sponsors sells Siebon CF Hoods and trunks ($625 for the hood, $744 for the trunk). I have the hood and it fits perfectly. The only thing I had to do is drill a little hole in one of the supports because it was so strong, it was distorting the shape of the hood on one side. And as far as weight goes, I could lift the CF hood with 2 fingers before I put it on.

Gentlemen, the skepticism is understandable. The parts are being fabricated as we speak. Development started and has been in full tilt since this September and the vehicle, i.e. my car with all the other goodies on it outside of the CF parts, will be officially released this January or February 2013, with parts available in carbon fiber or fiberglass shortly thereafter. The delay was rounding up the correct know-how and finding an industry leading fabricator that will guarantee the highest level of fit and finish, something current products suffer from. The replacement E46 sedan parts include:

1. OEM fit M3 front fenders.
2. OEM fit M3 rear quarter panels.
3. OEM fit M3 front hood.
4. OEM fit M3 front bumper.
5. OEM fit M3 CSL-style rear deck lid.
6. OEM CF roof.

The diffuser on my car is the CSL CF unit, so we have not fabricated a replacement. In addition, my roof is made from prepreg CF, with all subsequent units depending on the price the customer is willing to pay. This has been a long journey from inception to finished product, with more work done getting everything right prior to production. These parts are real, will be available and are going to be worth the wait.

I'm actually interested in a hood with a M3 bulge that would fit a Sedan also would like a top and perharps a trunk lid with CSL style lip

But would like to see the items fitted on a E46 before deciding...

Once we are going to release the car, pics will be posted.

Ok, would i be able to see a picture of the car with only these three items attached ?

Would you take pictures starting with.... say... only the hood... then hood+top and eventually hood+top+trunk and then move on to fenders ?

I will see what we can do. The car will have all the parts on prior to paint so there will be pre- and post- pics, also.

Close... Doing the quarter panels for the rear. Initial molds wear damaged by a no longer employed worker.

Front quarters, hood, roof, front bumper are all done, with a fiberglass option going to be provided. The fit and finish is excellent and truly OEM. Still waiting on the rear quarters and the deck lid.

Also, in discussion with a large BMW race parts supplier to have the kit sold, front (i.e. front fenders, hood, and front bumper) and rear, as well as option for the roof in either fiberglass or carbon fiber.

Unfortunately, its been slower then desired, especially with the set back, but its coming.
