"Service Engine Soon" Light (OBDII Question)

So my service engine light came on. I took the car to Pep Boys and they got the OBDII code for me for free. It was the following:

P1412
Manufacturer control
Auxiliary emission controls

The problem is that I don't really know what this means. Tried doing some search online, but came up empty handed. If anybody knows anything, it would be greatly appreciated. If worst comes to worst, I guess I'll take it to a local shop.

i am having the same code...but is anything wrong with your car bc mine stalls and dies as after...let know thanks

nope.. nothing actually "wrong" with it... I still haven't fixed it.. lol

thanks CylonRed.. back when I had originally posted this there was nothing on the forum regarding this code.. like i said.. i actually still have the light on.. hadn't realized it's been so long until I looked at my post date....

I will go ahead and try out what was mentioned on the links and post it here in case it helps anybody else (when i get my car back from body shop)

that is a generic code. you need to get it scanned with a bmw/european scanner.
