DIY: Clear Rear Turn Signal bulbs FREE ~15mins

Mod: Clear Turn Signal Bulbs
Effect: Makes the signals flash clear instead of amber in the housing
Time: Less than 15 minutes
Cost: Free! (Unless you don't have a razor blade)
(Sorry for bad pics, blame the iPhone)

Here is how to make your rear turn signal bulbs clear for FREE!
Step 1:
Open trunk and look at the lights.

Step 2:
Grasp around light and open the bulb tray. Push down and turn on the Turn Signal bulb to remove

Step 3:
Take bulb inside with a napkin/towel

Step 4:
Use razor blade to gently remove tint on the bulb. (will not scratch the glass)

Step 5:
All clear, now put bulb back in and put the assembly back into the housing. Repeat for the other side

Or you could take it out and spray it very lightly with high temp chrome paint, then sell your new stealth signals at a premium while replacing them with new clear bulbs for your car for cheap.

Also, since your sig states you have clear tails, this becomes an equipment violation because they must flash amber or red in the rear. It would be fine if you have amber tails.

I thought about painting them but I figured it would be easier just to do this, although I may paint them later to town them down a bit.
Thanks for the part about violation

Or you could buy stealth bulbs for like <$10 for a pair? This is illegal and you WILL get pulled over. Please, no one do this.

This is like the thread where a guy asked how to turn off his DRLs and someone said to just unplug them.
