It didn't really effect it at all, not that I could really notice anyway. That resonator that it replaced is so small I can't imagine it was doing much

we need more quality videos of this catback with headers... cause, I'm awaiting the catback, but have time to change my mind.

What do you mean a defective batch? Is this something I need to worry about?
I'm in Canada so I really don't want any surprises.

got mines installed. I have the howling sound I am NA and the sound comes in a higher RPMs...

Guess Magnaflow did not fix the problem...or is it the actual install? I read that there was a bad weld, where is the location of the bad weld?

I will re-check all the clamps and nuts to the header/cat next weekend. But all seems tight as far as exhaust leak noise. higher RPM's will yield a howling/whistling sound...
bigjae- did you ever figure out the root cause to your exhaust howling.

If it were me, I'd very securely jack up your Bimmer on all 4 corners. Then with you & a buddy I'd start up the car & while one of you lays near or under the car (if you're brave) the other takes two tennis balls & holds them (wearing gloves) into the muffler outlet. This few seconds of back pressure will not shut off the motor, but should be plenty to show if you have an exhaust leak somewhere in the system.

Mine sounded great the first time, I really hope you get this fixed.

Good luck.

installed mine on a 330xi today. sounds pretty sweet. Think I'm going to have to order a new transmission exhaust support. Mine wasn't even there haha. Sooo, hopefully this will help reduce some rattle. Sounds pretty BA, its definitely loud. A little louder than I was expecting but its nice with cruising, and a lot of deep growl.

I essentially just shifted the resonator further down the exhaust to make it fit...

So let me get this straight, this is a #16533 on a 330XI ? If your modification is what it takes to get it on the XI, then you should take a lot of really good pics. This way everyone else with an XI can get it, & do your modification for installation.

well, those are the pics that show exactly what was modified. It was cut right behind the first resonator. And then used a 2 inch pipe to extend the distance between the header/exhaust flange and the first bend in the exhaust.

Everything else fit perfect.

Thats pretty cool chanlon. An easy modification for any exhaust shop, doesnt even look like they had to make a single bend.

yeah, no bends, fairly straight forward... It really roars man haha. I think I need to makeshift some more rubber brackets.
