Check engine light, and power loss

I have a 2004 325ci and recently started having a problem with my check engine light coming on. It occasionally comes on during hard acceleration, and the engine will subsequently run a little rough, and I will not have as much power as usual. After turing the car off and restarting the engine, the light turns off. I have only had this problem 1-2 times a week, and have not had time to get the light code checked while it has been on.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this? Thanks

Go to your local Advanced Auto or shop. Get the codes. Sounds like you might have a dirty or bad MAF.

You have to make time to get it scanned. What else do you think you can do? We can't play the guessing game.

error code p0444 (purge control valve) and p0174 (lean cylinder bank) came up in the history. I have not had any more issues.

I took it to a mechanic who said there was misfire( I think 5th cylinder). Replaced the spark plugs and coil, and it hasn't done it again (it's been about 3 weeks now). Hope that helps.
