My goal is always 300 miles per tank, I've only achieved it twice on road trips. I do 50-50 city/highway and drive pretty... fast. I usually get around 275 per tank.

My Ride: HPF Stage 2.5 M3
I've gotten 34.5 mpg highway when light on the pedal. Never really paid attention to how many miles I've gotten on a full tank because I always manage to get on it one way or another and the 34.5 drops to around 10 (don't really know exactly but feels like it) due to HPF turbo. What is the highest you've gotten your MPG reader to say on the highway?

I have an average 40-50 mile commute total each day and I average about 280-290 miles before the yellow fuel light activates. I'm averaging about 21-22mpg mixed city/highway and I have a lead foot with the sport button on Overall, just highway driving, I can get just under 30 mpg, say on a straight trip from Detroit to Chicago.

Thanks so much guys. I just wanted to be sure I wasnt in for a surprise some websites listed the mpg much lower than highway you guys are posting. My current ride is an 02 SS (slammed with step lip HREs ) with mild mods and Im averaging about 275-330 on its best week . On long trips the SS can be pretty good with 6th gear being a lugging fuel economy ratio but man when you start putting the hammer down i can really see the tank go down. Sounds like the M will be in a similar range which is good enough for me !

On a long highway trip, with speeds between 75 and 80 mph, I can get around 400 miles out of a full tank. I suspect that I could go further if I dropped the speed to 65, but who wants to drive an M3 at 65 mph on an open highway? In normal driving, which is about a 65/35 mix of freeway/city driving, it is closer to 300 miles. My long-term average mileage (per the on board readout) is 21.1 mpg.

This.

I have never even come close to the 34.5mpg highway that was mentioned, even when specifically trying to see how high I can get it. Maybe 29, tops.

Averaging 23mpg with a weekday 30 minute commute, and a bit of a bashing at weekends. Probably about 300 miles to a tank?
Last weekend, with a motorway cruise (120kph) averaged 27mpg.

Are you referring to Imperial gallons (the UK standard) or US gallons? Imperial gallons are more voluminous.

Not sure how accurate the OBC is... but it says I get about 30-31 MPG on average on the HWY. Around 27-28 combined, city/hwy.
