Oups.... we had a lot of confusion thanks to that thread so I pulled it but if you look HERE you'll see some really pretty BMW Performance Rear calipers HEAVILY discounted! Those with some custom brackets, along with our front BBK would give you a matching set of BMW Performance brakes! We have not engineered rear brackets but I'm sure some of you guys are crafty enough to wip something up!

If you buy the kit, the rears are a must... if the calipers were black or silver it would be ok... but with a color that pops this much, must have a matching set methinks.

Sexy setup for sure

I was thinking of getting the rear calipers so I can obtain a measurement baseline to create a bracket made out of aluminum and test it. I will design it and use my source for a CAD/CAM machining.

the bracket itself is part of the rear caliper unlike the front where the bracket is a 2nd piece of metal. Since 135i uses the caliper in front of the rear rotor. We would need to use a left caliper on the RIGHT side and a Right caliper on the LEFT side to match the same position of the E46 calipers.

Fixed that posted link to direct to a different page, I had to pull the thread it originally linked due to some complications. The link now directs you HERE...

And Jon I'd love to see you do it since our R&D team has currently moved on to other projects

Ultimately it seems to be a common problem amongst multipiston calipers like corvettes/GTRs. Perhaps its time for proper actual real brake ducts with center hub backing plates.

Endless brake calipers made for my friend's S2000 doesn't even come with the dust seals. I would imagine changing them once a year before the rain season starts would be a good idea to minimize the water/dust going to the inner (more important) seal.

Finally found a couple of hours to squeeze install time for BBK and proper bedding.

Thanks. After bedding the pads, definitely notice a bit more bite. Those pads maybe dusty though. I should have done Hawk ceramics from the start.

Btw, I forgot who I was talking on the forum about the brake lines being longer. I have the SS lines but the kit definitely has longer lines.

Jon

I was talking to you about the longer brake line. Good thing you didn't sell it!

I figured they are OEM pads so they would dust like them as well.

The brakes do have a weak bite until proper bedding has taken place.

That's right. I figured it was you. You're absolutely right. I attached the existing one and noticed right away. There was a good 4 inches more on the new lines. Good thing I've decided to keep the new rotors and lines.

The pads are definitely dusty which made my wheels gray when I bedded them. At this point I may use till next spring since it will be hardly used during the winter.
