Installed these tonight. Couldn't get the old carrier off and didn't notice too big of a difference from the new bracket. I installed them with the OEM bracket. They seem to fit perfect. Am I missing something? Or what's the real reason for the brackets?

The problem with the stock carrier bracket is they do not properly align the pads with the rotors. The improper alignment is going to cause poor pad and rotor wear.

Below is a photo showing how everything lines up using the stock carriers.

Had my brakes installed on Friday and love them! Going from stock non-330 sized brakes to this bbk made a world of difference. Can't tell you how many times I've made my seatbelts lockup

Couldn't really get any decent shots of the brakes but here are some for now:

^^^ i thought your car was a 330i?? The 330i stock brakes are actually one of the best brakes i ever driven on, stock brakes of course. So if anyone cant afford this kit upgrading to 330i brakes is just as sweet. By the way nice pictures welcome to the club, im going to put off the install till after the winter snow.

Thanks man, no I have a 2.5L. I have driven a some 330i/ci's and these brakes definitely trump them. I agree if you can't afford them then upgrade to 330i brakes, but if you can then DEFINITELY go with these. My shop couldn't believe how little I paid for them. I have only done street driving so far, waiting on my rear brake install and then hopefully getting on the track in late January.

Highly doubtful that rears will be developed as the rear brackets are integrated into the caliper, vs. removable/replaceable in the front. Someone would virtually need to design/develop an entire new caliper.

I know. I doubt thats any cost effective. Too bad the Brembo rear brake kit uses 345 rotor. :X Otherwise it would be a nice swap for the rears.

We don't have a project on the books using the calipers, that's why we have them marked down soooooooo much on the site (Link)

Pretty much nailed it on the head. They are awesome calipers but the machining work would basically be a redesign of the whole caliper instead of a retro fit.
