Door ajar light wont shut off

My door ajar light wont shut off for the driver side door
any recommendations where to start troubleshooting

Maybe the push button switch in the door jamb is broken? Open the door and push the button with your finger. If the light doesn't go out, the switch is faulty?

then it's broken!!! That explain why the light won't shut off. Check ur pass side u should have a L shape button that shuts the light when u close the door.

there is no button on either side, i believe the signal comes from the latching mechanism

Im sorry, ur right there is no button. Have u try slamming the door to see if the light shut off? Maybe the door is not close right.
