I did this with burpees. You just did those so you can do anything you want after the Front Squats. Pull ups, Push ups, deadlift, Hang Clean etc. It's the rep scheme that destroys you on this one.

I'll try to explain this easily. You'll do 10 115lb front squats 1 pull up, 9 squats 2 pull ups, 8 squats 3 pull ups, 7 squats 4 pull ups, 6 sq 5 pu, 5 sq 6 pu, 4 sq 7 pu, 3 8, 2 9, 1 10. The 1st movement descends and the second ascends. You just keep doing the 2 movements until the squats are 1 and the pu's are 10.

If you want I'll keep them coming. Just let me know what you want to workout and I can think of something. I've been making up some of these workouts for a while now. The key is to time them though. Don't be a "crossfitter" and go nuts just to get a good time. Use your time as a goal for the next time you try it. I've cut 3 minutes off workouts only a few months after trying them once because I had the clock as motivation.

That was one thing I was worried about, being obsessed about the time and compromising form and not getting the most out of the workout. I like having the time as a factor, but not as THE factor.

Thanks again, this is cool stuff

You could do it with a BB and DBs.

Clean and press, sets of 5/10/15/10/5, with 50 meter farmers walks in-between and at the end.

When I last did this, I used a 44lb KB for the clean/press (the reps are each hand when using KBs) and 53lb'ers for the walks.

21-15-9
105lb Push Press
Burpees

Finished in 8:01 if I remember correctly. Wasn't too bad on the legs at all. It's short so you can do another one after if you'd like. I thoroughly enjoy making these up so if you give me ideas of what you want to do I'll be more than happy to suggest some things.
I like this one Mike. Just did it in 5:27. Uploading the video now.

To be fair, the idea is only to chase time once the movements have become second nature.

I kept waiting for you to die, that was like a snuff film lol. I think I'm expending too much energy on my burpees, I'm getting like 6 inches of air each time.

Haha. These kinds of workouts were a lot easier when I was 190 instead of 225. My wrist is almost good enough for Olympic lifting again. It's been killing me not being able too.... Give me another one for today solly!

Hmm let's think.

Try this one that I did a few weeks back.

I used 115lbs. I'd suggest more for you.

5 rounds
7 deadlifts
5 hang cleans
3 push press

Never put the bar down. Rest in between rounds if you need to.

This is a variation of one of the Hero WODs. The official one is 5 rounds with 155lbs of:

12 deadlifts
9 power cleans
6 push press

To be completed for time, but under 16 minutes.

It it a demoralizing workout.

lol so effortless for you. I like seeing this though. I should try it just to show people who aren't familiar with this stuff just how much better you are than average. I like to think I'm much better than the average joe but you make me look like a fool haha. One question though, Greg. I tent to do the full catch and get my elbows up on every rep. Do you think that's better in terms of strength building or does it not really matter?

I like... good mix of sets / rep ranges & compound/isolation

I'd go heavier on the bench for 5-7 range and leave the higher reps to the incline db & flies but that's being nitpicky
