Stuck Pet Divider Net - 325 xiT

The pet divider net (part of the cargo cover) on my touring is stuck in the fully extended position.

I tried pulling the net at a 45 degree angle, quick tugs to try to build reverse momentum, and the typical techniques that people use to retract blinds; however, nothing worked. The net is currently stuck in the fully extended position and resting upon the plastic cargo cover (which is pulled out) in the truck. The net is somewhat functional when connected to the mounting points, but the excess is bunched and sagging at the bottom. Not good functionality or looks any way you cut it.

I did a fair amount of research on this site and on google, but did not have any luck. I also looked up the part number for the cargo (51477160582) to see if there is an OEM replacement net, but there does not appear to be one. I even looked at "stuck blind" posts to try and find analogous situations and fixes.

Does anyone have any ideas or McGyver tricks? I recognize that this is not a very technical or juicy topic, but I would appreciate any helpful recommendations.

I had a great response for you, but then you specified 'helpful responses.' Damn!

Anyway, I think it's great you feel comfortable enough at fanatics to talk about owning a dog. What kind is it? Size, weight, gender, and name please.

Then, for the net, I'd suggest figuring out how to take it apart and get to the innards. Pry something off maybe...careful.

You gave it quick hard tugs and it wouldn't retract? It sounds like window blinds...something got hung up...would be my guess.

Fix it and go and enjoy vids please!
