UPDATE:
Found one OEM mirror. It's blue but it's the right kind with 6 wires.
Tried to pull the supercharger out of the 325 with a friend - failed miserably
That thing is heavy and stuck to the head with liquid gasket.
Bought an engine hoist (which I'm gonna need anyway) and pulled the SC out.
The DME is on its way to ESS to be reflashed back to stock. If everything goes well I should have the coupe back on the road in two weeks.

Scheduled baseline dyno run for wednesday. It's a mustang dyno. I hope they have gearing and weight data for the wagon. If not I'll probably ask them to enter it as a 325 convertible (same gearing, similar weight).
Expecting to pull about 160.

Ordered AFR and boost gauges (square digital). They will go into the small compartment with flip door (under the AC controls). If I'm not happy with that location I might do rearview mirror install.

I only have the Stage 1 in my 325.
The upgrade from TS1 to TS2 is $2200 (injectors, pulley, belt, aftercooler cores, heat exchanger ...). Going from 2.5 engine to 3.0 also requires bigger TB elbow ($300).

Not right away. I like the M Tech II better but I won't be messing with the looks of the car until I get it running.

UPDATE:
The coupe is getting closer to being back to stock.
Headers have been dropped off for ceramic coating.
The wagon pulled over 170hp on a mustang dyno. I'll post the chart later. This confirms two things - BMW underrated the 325 to make the 330 look better and the previous owner likely upgraded the DME software. There seems to be no DISA dip and the throttle response is pretty good.

BAD NEWS:
The junkyard I bought the 330 motor from is either trying to screw me over or made a mistake. The engine was supposed to be 2004 80k miles, it turns out to be 2001.
I'm working with the seller on finding out more about the engine I got. If it's low mileage I might keep it (and get partial money refund) if not I'd have to return the motor.

GOOD NEWS:
It looks like it might be from a 2001 convertible with 93K miles. That would be ok.
I pulled the valve cover and there is almost no sludge.

Here is the Dyno of the stock M54B25 engine. See the previous post for why I think it ran such high numbers.

UPDATE:

The coupe is back to stock. Started right up no error lights. Now the real fun can begin.
Ordering just about all gaskets for the 330 engine + Vanos repair kit (Should have ordered that stuff last week so I would have something to do this weekend)

The gauges arrived.
And I found used M3 steering wheel

You are not kidding. That's pretty impressive list in your sig. The only thing I can think of is limited slip.

When I'm done with my daily driver I might pick up some old car BMW 2002 or first gen Civic and restore it.

Looking forward to seeing the build up. I have a 2005 325iT with manual and sport package. I am considering doing a sleeper build also.

UPDATE: CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY

The expensive pieces were the MAF, intake box, and M3 motor mounts.
Also got pretty much the whole new cooling system.

Subscribed. Looking forward to following your progress. Great looking Touring!

I'm curious what that plate is for in the lower right of your pic? Anyone?

That's why I didn't recognize it. Mine didn't come with one. After getting pulled over twice for it I added a Skene Design bracket. I didn't want to drill holes in my bumper.

EDIT: after looking at your pics again, I see it's the rear. Mine looks different than that one.
