Sleepers are awesome because if you build one right you'll get some hotshot in a "soaped up" ***** try to impress you and then *BAM* you teach em a little thing or two

![]() Looks like Santa took good care of you, I really love my Quaife on the street; I'm quite sure you'll really like it too. Good luck with your build.

UPDATE:
The diff has been dropped off for rebuild and LSD install. Bumper, sideskirts and mirrors dropped off for painting. The body shop wanted piece of the car to match the paint so I popped off the gas cap door. The only missing pieces at this point: supercharger upgrade kit driveshaft bolts transmission mounting bracket battery fog lights All this stuff should be arriving next week. If everything goes well I'll be turning the key in couple of weeks.

you realize that you could have held off ordering the air intake piece- you will be cutting enough out of it to fit the HE that you could have used the one your car already had

You mean the front scoop for the radiator? I didn't know that.
There is bunch of things I didn't need to order - clips for the side mouldings, tow hook hole cover, thermostat housing seal, fog light rings ... I didn't know what was included so I ended up with some duplicates. Oh well, most of those parts were cheap.

Wow, great build! Best of luck from a fellow AW 5-speed wagon owner lol.

Mini update:
The diff and driveshaft are in. Transmission and diff are filled up. The supercharger parts and the DME is on the way from Norway (finally!). There was unpleasant $400 surprise from ESS. I thought the injectors were included in the $2200 stage1 to stage2 upgrade. Oh well, I knew this wasn't gonna be a cheap build. Quote:

Subscribed. Oh, how I wish I had the nerve to consider this on my soon to be purchased wagon....

Yeah, for some reason I thought stage1 and stage2 injectors were different so that would be included in the upgrade.
Obviously in my case going from 325 to 330 the injectors have to get bigger. Installed the exhaust. The headers don't line up as nice as I hoped. I'll fiddle with it a bit more tomorrow but there is a good chance my first drive will be to a muffler shop.

Nice build man!!!! I can't believe I haven't clicked on this build and skimmed over it a bunch of times. A bunch of my friends love wagons and they never grew on me but damn that is one sweet looking wagon. I never really checked out the e46 wagons b4 and now I want one lol. It really looks awesome and by far my new favorite wagon in stock form. The mods are just a cherry on top.

A quick pic of the car with sideskirts, mirrors and black trim. The sideskirts look too white because the rest of the car is dirty. I could have reassembled the front of the car already but it would make the SC install more difficult.
The parts finally left Norway (month and a half after I ordered it - WTF ESS?). It should be here early next week. First start up attempt in about a week.

let me pick your brain...can you pull and later install the engine without the AC compressor. is it possible to just unbolt the compressor with all the AC line/freon still attached/filled and leave it on the floor and remove the engine. after putting the engine back on, can you just pick up the AC compresson with all the AC line/freon still attached/filled and bolt it back to the new engine?
I am asking because I don't feel like discharging my freon and paying an arm and a leg to get my freon filled. thanks |
