I'd rather have the tail light issues of the facelift than the subframe issues of the pre-facelift.

LOL subframe mount failures are NOT limited to pre face lift.

And Tail Light issues aren't limited to the Facelift - I think you got my point and understand I was being facetious but I'm not sure...

for the ppl in Canada receiving this letters... are you original owners or did you call in?
i'm still debating as i've taking my OEM tails out and put in the EE LED tails.
i have also recently done the *fix* that was posted on here.

should i even bother swapping OEM's back in and trying for the recall?

Orig. Owner.
If you bought from another party then it is wise to call the dealer or if not sure where it came from, call 1-800-567-2691 or e-mail customer.service@bmw.ca Re: recall campaign 2011-322.

I just got my letter, never had to ask. But since I have aftermarket tails, I doubt this is worth my time. Although since you never get free crap at a stealership, I'm almost tempted to revert back to my OEM clears and make them do this work just out of spite.

I called BMW Canada to update my info after purchasing mine off a coworker. Quick and painless, gave them my VIN and my info.

pattern for letters sent?

anyone know if there is any pattern the recall letters are being sent with?

i.e. 2003 before 2004, 2003 owners with last name starting with "A" before owners with last name starting with "B", etc.

Was told by a representative today that they are not all out and it is still being investigated. But if it is a serious problem then you can go to the dealership, get it fixed, and then file for reimbursement.

How do we seek reimbursement? I had my tail lights fixed at the dealer (they were giving my faulty indications on the warning panel).

Seems like a lot of Canadians have gotten a letter - what about down here?

wish they have recall on the prefacelift ones cuz mine just happened yesterday.
oh well, I just added another ground wire to the actual conductor around the connector and all is good.

Ask them about a reimbursement. I have no idea what the procedure is but I will probably wait till my letter physically comes in before I ask.

Aftermarket tails are no difference to them. I have Depo tails and just went and fixed mine WITHOUT my letter. It was getting so bad that I am just going to ask for a reimbursement when the letter comes in. They were cool with it and I got a courtesy cleaning.
