Do you have a link or more info on this? My 2001 330Ci has issues with the tail lights going off and on and the head light flicker.

i found out my e46 has this problem too, unfortunately i found this out as i put in the LAST of our TMS clears pkg. i don't feel like putting it all back to stock so i'm just going to see if they'll fix this with the TMS' in. i'll probably bring the original housing with me as my passenger ground has melted and pulled out of the connector. For now i just taped it up and left the light backing off. i called and my vin is included...i just didn't bother telling them about the lights. we'll see.

Clears shouldn't matter as long as the bulb housing is a factory part. My recall fix has been acting up. I keep getting a bulb out from driver rear.

The wife says they fixed the connectors with no issue, this was with TMS clears installed not the OE tails. Gonna scope it out when I get home.

I have an 01 330Ci and the dash warniing light (light out) is on/off intermittently - both rear lights show up. Seems to be assicociated as much with humidity as anything. My bulb boards and plug thereto all look good - no evidence of deterioration due to excess amperage etc on either male or femaile side. I nonetheless ran a ground wire directly from battery ground to the ground-circuit on both boards (L and R) , but to no vail. Inhdicatgor light still on / off unpredictably. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

(01 not covered in recall)

Hey all,

I had my recall work done in the winter. It didn't fix my tail lights tho which constantly have to be wiggled back into place because the bulb housing fixture and wire connector have giant burn holes in them (I'm assuming from the failed ground). Would you think the dealer should/would cover this and help get them fixed up? Before I could play with the wires and get them to light up appropriately, but no more. Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks
(and yes, I know the obvious answer is to replace it myself and save myself the hassle lol)

From what I see elsewhere on this site, your problem with an 02 should be covered in the recall.

I have the same issue. It doesn't affect the drivability of the car but it is certainly annoying. Does this recall still apply?

It should.

I bought a 2002 325i a little over 2 years ago. Sometime, in the past few months after reading about this recall, I took the car to the dealership to see if they'd cover it. Interestingly enough, the service advisor mentioned it to me without my asking. It turns out, the previous owner had already had the issue fixed, but it's nice to know BMW offered it anyway.

Granted, this was in Canada. I'm not sure about the US, but ideally they should still do it.
