New Member - 2005 330CI ZHP - Gray w/Alcantara
Hello everyone. I have been observing the forum for quite some time now, but decided to go ahead and introduce myself. I have recently (have already put 15k miles on it) bought a 2005 330CI ZHP 6 speed, Silver Gray Metallic with the Alcantara interior and silver cube trim.
I have added a AUX input cord as well as the EURO first aid box. The car also has a strut brace and Active Autowerke exhaust. Look forward to many miles and possibly a couple track days. Last edited by 2005 ZHP; 09-09-2011 at 08:40 AM. |

If I had ordered a ZHP new, it would have been that.

Very nice ZHP!!!! Also, good choice of gas! Chevron and Exxon/Mobil are best for this car!

That is one SEXY car! You are a lucky person to find it with all those options. I started looking at some different bimmers last night and one of that nature was very hard to find.

Welcome! Car looks great! Wish mine had Alcantara interior :/ Take care of her and she'll do the same to you. There are many great maintenance threads on here, just watch out for the mod bug!

Thanks everyone for the replies. I looked tirelessly to find a ZHP with the right options. I was not sure what I thought of the alcantara at first but I quickly decided how great it is. I recently followed a members directions to restore and bring my steering wheel back to life. It looks like new again.
I really do enjoy this car as a daily driver. I sometimes hate how many miles I put on it, but atleast I get to enjoy it and appreciate it. The 1st to 2nd gear transition has taken some getting used to. I have done a lot of research on the cars history and maintenance. I will probably start another thread shortly with the maintenance that has been done and what I am thinking about doing next. |

Put a lot of miles on it. That's the whole purpose of it. I hope you will keep it for a long time.

If well taken care of, these cars last a long time - no worries on the mileage! I put about 30k/year on mine. The 1-2 shift is very difficult to get used to. A clutch stop helps some people, and removing the CDV helps some people. My 1-2 shift became much smoother after getting rid of the CDV. Search the forum for "CDV Delete", it is pretty straightforward to do. |

Ya I have heard a few things about the CDV delete, I will have to go do a bit more research.
I forgot to mention that the car also has a strut brace and Active Autowerke exhaust As many of you have mentioned, If maintained these cars can and will be great for years to come. I have put together a spreadsheet of all the records I can find from previous owners as well as BMW CPO. At the end I have written some maintenance items to complete at the 100k mile mark. Please comment and let me know if you think I am on the right track or if I need to add something or take care of it before 100k. I started a new thread for this topic. Thanks so much http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...8#post13567278 Sam |
