325i Twin Turbo?

Can someone send me a link to any info, pictures, videos about 325i's with twin turbos? Looking into it for performance and fuel efficiency upgrades down the road.

Sure, people here get it done once a week especially on a 325, do you want auto or manual?

That won't be good for your cast internals.

Might as well put a supercharger instead of turbo. As far as I know non-M e46s cannot endure turbo since they have alluminum block

Superchargers kill fuel economy from what I've heard. I wanna do this upgrade more for the MPG boost. I'd rather have a fuel efficient kinda fast car than a gas guzzling super fast car.

You are the first person I have ever heard that wants a turbo for gas milage. The matter of fact is, the amount of money you will spend on the twin turbos and the engine rebuild to withstand all of that psi is going to be ridiculous. Get a supercharger, in the end you will save a lot of cash. Plus if your not flooring it all over that place, you wont lose THAT much mpg.

JayPitch, you seem like you are new to the e46 cars in general. I understand your preference for a turbo for potential fuel economy increase. A turbo can provide you that when driven accordingly, sure.

However, your inquiry about "twin" turbos suggests that you haven't done any research at all on these cars and forced induction prior to posting your question.

As it stands right now there are only really two options for forced induction on nonM e46's. Technique Tuning makes turbo kits for the 325 and 330. Go to www.techniquetuning.com. There is one known 325 car on the forum with one of their kits.

If you are looking for a "twin" turbo in the same sense as the e90 335 cars then there is no such thing for the e46 cars. Those are factory turbo systems fully integrated in the entire design of the engine to provide power and fuel efficiency. They are founded on a direct injection platform which the e46 doesn't have. That is not to say that TechniqueTunings kit cannot provide the same kind of power and fuel efficiency advantages as the twin turbo cars.

Aside from that there is Active Autowerks. They have superchargers for all e46 models including M and nonM.

Good luck.

Like what a stock Supra has.... small turbo spools and feeds a larger turbo... it works in sequence.... one throttle body

OP,

First like others have said, adding a twin turbo or turbo for that matter to a 325 BMW to make it more "Fuel Efficient" is not the smartest idea. Lets face it, even if you never got hard into the power, it would take a very long time to recoup the $8000 to $10,000 in hardware, installation & tuning. That said, I would do everything possible to make your current 325 "Volumetric Efficient". Then if you still want more power, click on the second link. (If you're not scarred)
