My Ride: 1999 BMW 328i
Talking Another 19 year old with their first bmw!

Hello everyone,
My names Nigel, and I purchased my first BMW about 2 months ago shortly after my 19th birthday. I previously owned a 91 Mazda 626 (older than me) then moved up to a 99 Honda Civic coupe and now finally a 99 BMW 328i. Great car, and besides the normal maintenance and little problems that come with the car (just went through the whole GM5 problem - lucky enough I ordered some replacement relays from the master, bmwgm5 and was able to find a skilled enough desolder guy in town to put them on. Crisis averted!) I love it.
The car is standard and Iím looking into some potential mods as time goes on.
I'm interested in a new exhaust system (any and all information would be greatly appreciated - quality, price are all very important to me) and possibly a trusted place to get such an add-on.
I looked into some halo mods which would be amazing, but also not exactly sure how to go about it on this car. I did read a post about the oven method, then clamping the halos to the stock housing and putting it all back together? Couple questions regarding the DRL's and if they do in fact have to be disabled to do such a mod.

Looking forward to being a part of the community and getting to know everyone. Also interested in hearing about common problems with the car, suggestions, advice, and what you think. So my PM box is always open and I hope to get some posts here!

Here are a couple of pictures of the car - thereís more in the album I put up on my profile if you want to check out the car!

OP, welcome!

And BBBoy323i, I have a 323i too. I asked BMW for a quote on M3 E46 wheels and they told me they can't sell them to me cause they wouldn't fit my car... How'd you fit them!?

My dad helped me with the fitment, we added some coil spring spacers that raise the rear to fit the wide wheels. Many people on here would say to roll your fenders, but I don't wanna modify my chassis.

Oh alrightie!

If something happens to my rims I might go CSL 19inch reps... I really want to run 275's. but I'm not 100% sure on how they'll look yet.

Right now I'm running a set of four BMW V-Spoke 72 18 inch rims with Nexen 225 wheels at the front and ContiGT 255 wheels at the rear. ContiGT are INSANELY grippy... With ASC on that is.

Also, when you say halos do you mean angel eyes? I'm going to be buying a full kit off eBay soon.

It's two replacement headlights for the E46. Comes with projector bulbs and amber LED angel eyes pre-installed. Looks great

They don't look like that whole cheap rip-off asian crap, they look like they're from BMW.

All you'd need after that is to buy HID XENON globes and you'll be dreaming!

welcome. Although i am younger than you but i can help you with angel eyes. Only facelift coupe(2004-06) headlights needs to be baked in order to open them but for car it is really simple, if you want i can post you a link to the diy or search on youtube.com for bmw E46 angel eyes install. You can get your DRL turned off by either dealer or bmw indy shops. I dunno about mufflers so i cant help you with that.

Yeah I meant Angel Eyes. Mind posting the link for those that you looked at? Or PMín me a link? Iíve looked at Ebay before but they all look like asian rip offs of BMW gear and thatís the last thing I want. Especially if itís more cost efficient to buy a halo kit and DIY.
Wouldnít mind checking out what you found!

That would be extremely helpful if you had a DIY link. Iím always interested in researching. Iíd just need to find somewhere to buy a fair priced, solid set of CCFL angel eyes.
For some reason, I was under the BMW wouldnít turn DRLís off due to it being a law to have DRLís? Maybe I was misinformed?

Thank-you, I appreciate that!

Also - is there an easy way to multi-quote people or am I stuck getting the post code from every person and copying pasting it into word then putting my whole message back in the reply box? Help..
Been on forums before - however I've never quite got quoting down.

Yeah I'm an idiot.. Happened to miss that button when my window was slightly minimized.. Opps
And I have some body work to do myself. Everything in do time. So long as my baby runs and is happy, i'm happy. I'll make it pretty eventually. Or hold out for an M3 when I win the lottery. Whichever happens first.
