I've done everything by this thread (and others) up to the point where you find the actual connector, but for the life of me I couldn't find it. As I've said, my car doesn't have an alarm, but it also doesn't have, for example, that plastic thing in the headliner where you enclose motion sensor. That leads me to beleive that European e46s (without alarm option) weren't even prewired for an alarm (I couldn't imagine wiring going through the headliner, without any opening that a connector or two can "exit" it.) Or am I just finding an excuse for not being able to find siren connector under the hood?

Oh, by the way, I don't even have a hood switch nor clown nose on a rearview mirror.

I'm inclined to believe you're not prewired for alarm (tilt/shock/siren) then, do you have the auto dimming mirror?

The connector for OEM alarm is right in front of the passenger side firewall, mine was bundled and taped up from the factory. If you have any wire there, you don't have this option.

Yes, I have a few wires there, but they basicly go over tha AC fan housing (neatly tucked) and end up on the driver's side of a firewall. And yes, I have the auto-dimming mirror. Soooo....no audio lock/unlock confirmation for me...

I'm pretty convinced that you do not have a car that is prewired for an alarm.
Kinda surprised that all cars don't come with this. What year is your car?

You need to check "Arming - Acoustic" refer to the PA Soft screenshot on the first page.

it's probably programming error-our cars are highly programmable and the option was probably missed when activated the alarm

I wired in a second siren using a relay. It's only slightly louder.

I bought a 105db piezo, which was too quiet and sounded like a duck giving birth.

If I were you, I wouldn't run 2. A generic car siren should be loud enough.

Hi Guys,

I've got an RHD Australian 330i and can't find the cable. Does anyone know which side of the car the cable should be on in a RHD car? It might not be pre-wired at all, but I haven't given up yet.
