My M-Series Touring

Hi everyone, thought it might be time to start a thread about my wagon . .

I bought it a few months ago after extensive searching (these wagons are very rare here in New Zealand)

Anyway, got it for a bargain, only because of the rather high miles. When purchased, it had these ridiculous 18" rims on it (first pic) - so I got some 17" m-sports.

I have replaced the indicators, and front bumper . . I also have satin kidneys, but waiting till I have the bonnet repainted

I am glad you changed out the wheels. It looks 10x better with the stock wheels.

@peytonracer4 - yeah mate, will get some alternative photos of the rims up tomorrow - the finish is called "shadow chrome" some sort of opaque silver paint over black I believe

@Don Nguyen - Cheers man, yeah, I love those rims, much better than those F&F rims that were on there when I bought it

@Burn535i - Thanks mate, whats wrong with the badge, I am assuming you're talking about the "M" - there is one on the front to . . ??

Better pic of the finish on the rims . . kind of hard to get a good angle that shows the finish with a camera

Hey mate, a fellow NZ touring owner. Where did you get the wheels done? And how much did it cost? They look grand.

Yeah I was referring to the m badge, but I didn't notice the one on the front at first. I'd say get rid of both. That being said, those wheels look really really good in that finish

@pharnos - I got the rims done through a mate of a mate, to be honest, I have no idea who painted them, however, you can get this finish done at any premium car painters, or rim repairer. Total cost was $550 for the lot. I should point out, again, I never met with the painter, so I am unsure whether or not, that was the actual price - but, I have had a look around, and prices have varied from $150-200 per rim. Cheers

@Burn535i - not too sure as to why I should remove badges, I am however, going to take the one off the grill when I have the bonnet repainted and new grills installed - cheers

So please tell me you had those gigantic chrome monstrosities melted down and put to good use elsewhere... not on a car... or anywhere near a car...

Ha! You're right, you're right

Super clean wagon. I love the new wheels and front bumper. I kinda wish my 330 came with those wheels. I see them all over the place here.

lol

m68's are awesome rims, i wish they were available in 18's because they are one of the best styled rims for a non-m. I just think 18's fit perfect

Thanks leem3, the shadow chrome looks great. Will ask around a few places.

As for the M badges, I think it's because the general consensus is that the M badge is reserved for motorsport powered cars, not models that came with M-sport options (like: bumpers, steering wheel, seats, suspension etc)
