A shout out to our Vert Section & members

We all know the fanatics can be a crazy place, but for the most part the Vert Subsection has not had all that drama, and the members here genuinely want to help each other enjoy our awesome rides.

A specific shout out to Cityjohn, who I met today, and spent time with going over many a Vert thing on our cars. He was even more knowledgeable and helpful in person than online. It's very cool to have people around like that who know their stuff, and are willing to go the extra distance to help out.

So, here's to the vert owners, this subsection, our cars, Cityjohn, and all the others who contribute regularly to this section.

LOL. Well this IS one of the largest subsections. For some reason, the 73+K posts in the pic thread aren't counted in the post count on the main screen, which shows 11.5K posts. At 86K+ posts, the vert section brings it.

Agreed, this section is much nicer.

Quite a collective knowledge base here! I love my convertible but I could not afford it if my only means of servicing it was at the dealer. John, did you ever get the door handle fixed? Seemed like there might have been two solutions for that one.

Not yet, was pretty slammed today (see what I did there?). Going to give it a shot tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

EDIT: Update. So what worked was not adjusting the door, as that made it close easier but the door "stuck out" some. What was really blocking it was that rubber buffering piece that was coming out a little. So, I used 3M double sided tape to tamp it back down and tucked the extra back in to the panel, and that worked. I got the idea as BMW uses something sticky to hold that piece in, and I think it just started coming a little loose.

Western North Carolina here. Love the vert., driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway & all the great mountain roads. This is my 2nd convertible, the 1st being a '99 325ic black/tan. going up for sale next week to make room.
