My Ride: '02 325Ci M-Sport

I recently purchased a manual 2002 325Ci M sport as a repairable writeoff from Pickles Auctions in Tullamarine. The car was in a minor front on crash and the steering wheel and passenger dashboard airbags are deployed. It is an Individual model, so it has Stratus Grey paint (BMW dealer told us that paint costed $5000 as an option!) and black cube trim. It also has quite a few options like the rain sensor, headlight washers, hid xenon headlights, harman/kardon sound system and 18 inch style 72 wheels. Windows have also been tinted 35%.
After we fix everything the mods I plan to do are: - Piano black grills (done) - Angel eyes (done) - Face-lift LED tail lights - Strut bar - LED interior lighting - Clubsport splitters - White headlight/fog light bulbs Here are some photos (I will update this thread during the process of fixing it up. The photos are in order from how I got it to current state): ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by DamoBMW; 11-17-2011 at 07:19 AM. |

We bought a lot of stuff from A1 Prestige Automotive in Williamstown. I highly recommend this place, they have everything there at great prices.
From there we bought a genuine used bonnet (Dakar Yellow), both brake air ducts, headlight brackets, seat belt pre tensioners, original CD player, horn, front crash shock absorbers. Off ebay we bought both airbags and bumper reinforcement. Here are a couple photos of the Dakar Yellow bonnet ![]() ![]() ![]() We are currently in the process of changing all the brake rotors and pads. Last edited by DamoBMW; 10-04-2011 at 08:10 AM. |

To get it on the road we still need to buy: Front air duct, fan shroud, bumper gasket, steering wheel airbag wiring, brake rotors and pads. The front bumper is currently getting fixed somewhere in Dandenong. I'll let you guys know what shop it is exactly tomorrow. We were going to get an aftermarket bumper but a lot of people were saying its not worth it because they often don't fit properly. |

I have a little problem with the passenger airbag.
Maybe someone here will be able to help me out?: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=874530 |

Manual, 90,000 kms, good trim inserts (the carbon looking one), looks like a good buy.
I personally would never buy a written off BMW, too many hidden costs down the tracks from ones ive seen repaired before, I nearly purchased a 330ci facelifted from 01 but things started to fall apart on it the air con stopped working, random sensors started lighting up the dash, I have problems on my own BMW with full log books history and everything up to date and sensors still up and runs lumpy ![]() You seem to know alot about the car though already which shows you will probably get it all done well (the harnesses you mentioned and wiring etc which are important) Keep up to date pictures see how its coming along |
