I changed out my differential and transmission oil earlier today.
As you can see in the picture below the oils were black and the trans oil had quite a lot of metal particles in it.
Still can't believe BMW says their oils are filled for life!!!

Didn't get to test the car out but I shifted through all the gears with engine running and feels a lot smoother.

While I was under the car I checked all the rubber bushings etc.
Everything still looks good except the drive-shaft flex disk and front control arm bushings which are starting to crack (see pics below).
How soon should I consider changing these out?

Update with some small lighting mods I've done recently

LED boot lights:

LED number plate lights (they look blueish in the pic, but I assure you they are white ):

Silver side indicator bulbs:

Cleaned and conditioned my leather with a great product called Gliptone.
I highly recommend this stuff, brings back the matte texture, leather feels softer and the conditioner smells like leather.

Before and after shots:

+1 I agree

It's amazing what a bit of elbow grease and quality cleaning products can do the overall look of an interior. Have you heard of Car Care Products OP? They are about to open up a shop in Melbourne.

Thanks. Yeah I've heard of them and I'm pretty sure they had an open day today.

Nah I didn't go.

In terms of maintenance I changed out the engine air filter today and am changing out fuel filter tomorrow.
New spark plugs are going in soon too.

With mods I'm still working on my CSL's, well waiting for Wurth to finally get new stock of the paint I need from them.
Also have the bluetooth hands free retrofit on my to do list.

So I replaced my fuel filter with a new one today and out of curiosity I sawed open the old one to see how it looks in there.

The filter is about 93k km's old and as you can see it's very dirty.
But it's nice to see it's done it's job well (the dirty side is the side where the fuel flows through and traps dirt).
