Brew, if you dont mind putting alittle time in I can find you a lot to start doing the same thing I am. If you can get $500 to start with you can be in my shoes in 3 years if you really work at it.

I'm actually looking to get out of the business and start something else. Right now I have around 5000 parts in inventory. I'd be willing to let it go for $5 a part for the lot. $5 each for barrels, triggers, hammers, pins ect ect ect..... If you can average $15 a part (many of the parts run $50-100 each, some more) you will make a 50k profit. If your interested let me know and I'll do a inventory and find out how many of each part I have, you can do a average yourself and figure out if your interested or not.

Old pictures but this gives you a idea of how I make a living. When I travel I take the whole business with me and do shipping from wherever I am.

Thanks, man - I really appreciate the offer. Actually, I just started a business in August and we're just now getting over the hump. We should be doing ok in the coming years. I'm just jealous of your toy fund and the fact that your wife doesn't blink at 50 cal heavy machine guns.

She hates the fifty lol, kicked it a few times on accident.

I'll post pictures some time when I get off work but I started documenting every-single-gun I own. It takes 3 days to clean all of them and taking pictures is really slowing me down but I'm going to try to picture them all in detial over the next few weeks.

It's simple really, since theres several requests I'll explain it here.

1. pick a model of gun thats both popular and has alot of aftermarket parts. It's easier to do this if you KNOW 1 or 2 types of guns. I deal in 1911 and belt fed browning parts mostly with some vintage m16 parts when I can find them.

2. Get to know that model inside and out down to what type of checkering and finishes for various serial number ranges so you know what your looking at. Historical guns such as garands/o3a3's have alot of variations in parts so knowing what you have in your hand could be the difference between a $15 and a $150 part. Most guns have books that break down the parts by date if its a historical or military firearm.

3. Once you know your gun find a parts lot, ebay/gunbroker/auction arms/gun shows are the best places to find the lot.

4. Once you find the parts lot break down the lot mentally on paper always using the lowest possibly price that something could sell for.

Say you find a lot of 10 triggers, you KNOW each trigger can easily sell for $15 each (if you wanted to sell them with in a week) but could bring up to $35 if you let them set. At $15 a trigger you would NOT want to spend over $75 for the lot. You want to make atleast double at worst.

Lets say we get the lot for $43+$5 shipping so $48 total. List the triggers for $35 each and let them set If they all sell for $35 you will make $350 on a $48 investment or a $302 profit.

IF you have a hard time selling them and cut the price back to $15 just to get rid of them your still safe because you sold them for $150 but only paid $48 so you made a $102 profit....

Basically you want to know your parts (by researcing auctions online) so you know how much to pay for said lot of items.

Another example, I have a rather large box of m261 .22lr ar15 conversion kit mags that I've been setting on for a while. I probably have around 80 or so of them IIRC. They SELL for between $15-$22 on gunbroker and at shows. heres a example of somebody currently bidding on one.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=273546681

I would take $560 for a box of 80 (actually $7 each for whatever remaining ones I have left)

That box of, say 80, would retail for between $1200-$1600 depending on if they sold for $15 or $20. Thats a profit of $640-$1040.

5. List the parts online at auction sites and/or hit up gunshops and gun shows, A table at a gunshow can be very lucerative if you have a large pile of parts.

6. Take anything you make and put back in to the business, DO NOT touch it at first. It took me about 3 months before I started skimming off the top. Let it build.

Remember. The more cash you save, the more you buy, the more you can buy/sell, the more $$$ you make.

Lets get back to the guns for a bit....Some of my rarly seen investments.

Note some of these stocks look dull, its a wax for long term storage. My kids will get these in about 60 years.
