While cleaning, I found his old stack of ammo in a closet. Most of the guns were taken by my wires older brother, and the more I find, the more upset I am. He must have taken over 45 guns. I found the 1911 .45 and the 38 special 5 shot hammerless revolver... He took all the rifles, and other hand guns. At any rate, I found his ammo. At least 4000 rounds of 22, over 500 rounds of 45 and tons of mixed ammo for various guns, including a few 50 cal rounds (hand gun and rifle).

It has a hammer, it's just inside of the frame, as far as I know.

First up is the 1911. It needs a little help (Broken spring piece that keeps the safety and slide lock under tension, and needs some cleaning)
Three mags. One is standard ammo, one is +P reloads (check out the snub nose on the rounds) and one is Hydra-Shok... ![]() ![]() And the revolver. It is a .32, not a 38 special. Still awesome, and small enough to carry concealed if you wanted. ![]()

That .45 in kaputs post has some character. I want my 1911 to look like that.

It was my father in laws carry gun for 20 years. For the last 4 years of his life, it lived in the case, in the coffee table, and then disappeared shortly after his death.
I found it while cleaning up one day, in the case, loaded with one in the chamber in reach of my then 18 month old kid. I started shooting it randomly and had one accidental misfire which almost hit my arm at my uncles cabin. (Slide lock didn't lock back, mag didn't feed, and when I opened for a visual check, the round got wedged in the gun, mag dropped out and slide closed. I dry fired it, but it went off thinking it was empty.) It has a very light trigger pull, and tons of character. It is not a pretty gun by any means. But it does shoot straight, and like my block, will fire ANYTHING you fill it with, and make large holes on the other side. I don't trust it at this point as it needs a rebuild (some things) but it is in my bed side safe with 2 mags loaded, one in the gun, chamber empty incase my wife or I need it.

FWIW - if you or your wife "need" it, you need to make sure it is in proper condition to operate reliably. Get that thing in to a gunsmith for a rebuild. It doesn't have to be pretty, just function well and replace anything that is worn out.

Here are my pistols. Rifles and shotgun may come later.
For plinking and opossums, Beretta U22 Neos .22LR... Nightstand gun, Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm... The shadows make the barrel look thicker than it is. My concealed carry, Taurus PT1911 .45 ACP... Bimmer App made this happen. Don't be jealous.

It's a Marlin, but I'm not sure on the model number at the moment.
