Yes and no. I like the smell of it in my car, and it's good for an air freshener when my car gets stinky. ...Which is usually every night since I usually have pretty bad gas from drinking protein shakes.

But realistically, yes, FrogLube experiment at work is over. We won't be using it large-scale. In reality, their lube is good at CLP, hence why they call it CLP. The problem is that while it cleans, it does not do as well on carbon deposits as Slip2000 Carbon Killer. They have a separate solvent, but it's no better than the 725 Cleaner/Degreaser, it's not available in bulk, and it's much more expensive. We've got two levels of cleaners to use, which is needed because we have HK416's, G36C's and UMP's, all of which have gas piston parts that get coated in carbon, and we have other weapons that get pretty dirty.
EWL is heavily tested, and their studies show it to be the highest rated and most durable lubricant. FrogLube doesn't have any scientific testing yet that I've found. It's also much more expensive than EWL, especially since Slip2000 has LE pricing that makes it significantly less expensive than commercial price.

Nothing against FrogLube, but the Slip2000 is a known product with proven results, and we had to buy enough to last 2-3 years. I'm not betting a large chunk of our budget on something that I still have not completely vetted, and I don't want to be in a precarious position where we are stuck with a large supply that we don't want to use and can't get rid of.

Thus far I like FrogLube. But thus far, I've got very limited experience with it. I have extensive experience with Slip2000 products.

^ that's well-reasoned. I clearly need to buy the rest of the slip 2000 products to clean my stuff

When you're paying $200 for a gallon of lubricant, the administration gets very squirrelly because they can get tons of cans of RemOil for a fraction of that. It helps to be able to come back with:

Quote:
Slip 2000 EWL meets most and exceeds requirements of MIL SPEC: MIL-PRF-63460D (6)

Kinematics Viscosity (ASTM D445) -59° F...Pass
Falex Load Carrying Capacity (ASTM D3233) +4500 lbs...Pass
Corrosion Test (ASTM-B-117) 150 Hr...Pass
Rust Resistance (ASTM D-665) Test A...Pass Test B...Pass Modified Test C...Pass

...and then ask them what RemOil or Militec can do. Killing administrators with statistics and specification has always been a very effective strategy in my agency, if for no other reason than utterly confusing them.

Normal Slip2000 Lubricant (not EWL) is at 750lbs on the Falex test. Thing is, I have no clue where FrogLube sits in any of these tests. The biggest beef I have with FrogLube is that they only have testimonials as R&D/T&E data. No actual scientific testing. I know what all of those data points refer to, so to me the specs make sense. I just want to know what FrogLube can do, and I don't like getting the response "our product is designed and proven to resist corrosion" and similar patronizing statements that duck the actual details.
Plus, a gallon quantity of FrogLube would cost us $544. 725 cleaner is <$30/gal, and Carbon Killer is <$50/gal. Compare that to FrogLube at $416/gal. Yikes.
FrogLube does have Government pricing, but I'm still waiting on approval to see if there is a drastic reduction in price.

From the few mags i put down range.. Fully auto = tightened pants.. I loved them. Full 30 rd mag gone in less than 5 seconds.. Easy to control and shoot. Heated up quick though. I plan to revisit our range next week for more shooting. Need to test some different ammo with them.

In time. We are a class 2 sot so it's legal for us to build the fun toys. I feel that in house cans are not to far out.

In time we will have all the equipment and a indoor range. It's zoned correctly and in the 5 year plan.

Do you work for Salient Arms? That looks an awful lot like one of their pistols. If we so, we need to talk about discounts on Glock work.
