It's official, took me only 2 hours to do vanos seals and 2 hours to do a oil filter housing gasket! We still ended up having a late night mission probably because we we're bsing around with my car at the same time. Steven is the worst set of hands lol. "Hand me the 13", 5 minutes later "I can't find it.", then I have to go check, "it's in the toolbox."

Doh, that was me above. I couldn't sign out on his account for some reason. I don't know how much he spent, like 80 bucks I think. But his idle is spotless, not even close to a sign of hesitation. Took a long time because he couldn't find me the right tools haha.

i got the vanos seals from a guy on here that chickened out on his installed so i got them for 50 bucks shipped.

honeslty you'll be pissed about paying that much for such a small amount of material. but there is no other options




heres the deal if your car is newer than 2003 you can go up too 150k and your seals will need to be changed then. if your car is older than 2003 than you wanna change them at 100k.. i read just like everyone else about the seals failing at 15k because the oe material but in reality by looking at my seals that we took out its all about time not about mileage. since i have a 05 the seals were still in good shape but still the whole procedure was for my peace of mind ..

idler pulley 20 bucks pelicanparts.com

valve cover gasket 25 bucks pelican parts.com they will ask you if you want eh vcg rubber bolt spacer things for a buck each.. don't get them the 1;s u have on now are prob in perfect shape and i regret wasting the 15 bucks on them lol.
