Tonights workout

Barbell Squat:
45 lb x 12 reps (+38 pts)
135 lb x 5 reps (+57 pts)
185 lb x 5 reps (+81 pts)
200 lb x 3 reps (+71 pts)
200 lb x 5 reps (+89 pts)
200 lb x 4 reps (+81 pts)
Not as good as I hoped on this but I've been slacking with my squat.
Standing Barbell Shoulder Press:

45 lb x 12 reps (+59 pts)
65 lb x 7 reps (+62 pts)
95 lb x 5 reps (+69 pts)
117.5 lb x 5 reps (+80 pts)
117.5 lb x 5 reps (+80 pts)
117.5 lb x 5 reps (+80 pts)
Felt good on these. Trying to work back up to where I was.

Thrusters:
75 lb x 23 reps (+74 pts)
75 lb x 23 reps (+74 pts)
5minute amrap. Killer wod. I had to enter this in two sets because it wouldn't accept the 46 reps in one.
Mountain Climbers:

100 reps (+38 pts)

What is said at the end of the video " ...... b/c Fvck you" But I love how you flip the hammer when you are done pounding the tire. BEAST MODE!! You are just in the zone. I love when that happens to me.

it was kind of an inside "internet" joke. Me and my friend die at those "because fuuck you memes" so he said "sledgehammers...because fuuck you.

Today's workout I'll be doing around 6 or so. These hammers are going to kill me today.
Workout of the day:
Deadlift

5 sets of pull ups to failure
rest as long as you need to feel fresh

4 rounds
45 sec right side sledgehammer strikes
rest 45 seconds
45 sec left side sledgehammer strikes
Start next round after other person gets through their right and left side strikes

BTW, I'm thinking of toning down the crossfit style workouts a bit

I'm thinking of doing Starting Strength again because I had a lot of success with it and doing shorter more strength based metcons instead of longer conditioning related wods. I'm going to be doing metcons relating to the 3 big lifts on each day. and on "off days" I'll so something cardio based that wont affect my lifts the next day since SS is mon, wed, Fri

An example of a day would be this

Squat 3x5
Press 3x5
Power Clean 5x3

5 rounds
5 115lb squat cleans
10 kb swings
box jumps

Workout B is
squat
bench
deadlift so I would make up a workout around those

I think I lost some ground on my strength by focusing more on the metcons and not eating enough so my workout partner and I will be switching to this. I'm going to up my cals and try to gain some size while getting stronger. We'll see how it goes.

I have some strength goals in mind that I want to meet by next year and I think this is the best way to get there.

As always, input is more than welcome.

Barbell Deadlift:
75 lb x 7 reps (+42 pts)
135 lb x 10 reps (+68 pts)
185 lb x 5 reps (+81 pts)
225 lb x 5 reps (+106 pts)
255 lb x 3 reps (+104 pts)
255 lb x 5 reps (+129 pts)
sucked on set 5 and wanted to just do two more at 255 but felt good while I was doing it.

Pull-Up:
12 reps (+73 pts)
7 reps (+36 pts)
6 reps (+29 pts)
8 reps (+43 pts)
5 reps (+23 pts)
getting better at pull ups. Trying to be strict.

Sledgehammer:
10 lb x 23 reps (+28 pts)
10 lb x 23 reps (+28 pts)
10 lb x 30 reps (+30 pts)
10 lb x 28 reps (+30 pts)
10 lb x 28 reps (+30 pts)
10 lb x 26 reps (+29 pts)
10 lb x 30 reps (+30 pts)
10 lb x 26 reps (+29 pts)
45 seconds right striked, 45 seconds rest, 45 seconds left strikes partners go, repeat for 4 rounds.

i think all reps took me about 30 minutes or so.. i was trying to rest a minimal amount but i was really getting fatigued on the last few sets of deads.

i may adopt the workout that you posted. it sounds like a good one!
where do you get the 52 reps from?

i was planning on 5 x 10 but then after the first couple of sets i realized that i was going to have to break it down further.
yea for strength stuff i like to keep it heavy and do less reps

I knew someone that has a farm. Check for people like that or some companies that have large trucks. You'll do them a favor by taking their old tires.

I'm in badddd shape today. I literally can hardly walk from Mondays squats and thrusters. I missed this feeling but hate it at the same time.
