the next morning I was like damn where the hell did this thing go. I'm almost to the point where I could see some abs if I had decent ab muscles. I work my core pretty hard with all the big lifts but I think adding in some ab stuff would help.

Do you have a ghd? I've been liking that for situps lately.

I've been doing alot with front squats lately and I'm really liking them. Finally broke my latest plateau and got 1 rep at 215 last night. I feel more comfortable doing f squats than b squats. Anyone else feel the same?

Big lifts definitely work the "core" but the problem is, the "core" is a ton of muscles (many of which are not generally visible) though a lot of people have started interpreting it mainly as abdominals.

Anyway, what I'm saying is, don't skip abs just bc big lifts work the "core." As someone who spent years thinking squats would somehow give me abs, I can tell you it's more fun to actually have them than to tell people you work your midsection in alternative ways.

It's more easy to kill with a sword than with a gun.

A sword is more frightening than toy-looking gun like glock.

robbing with a sword is a good thing

I have a roman chair which can give me a similar movement. And yes I feel much more comfortable with front squats.

Went for another PR last night. I wanted a 165lb Clean by Sept 2013 and attempted a 170lb (body weight) hang clean last night.
I'm happy with the upper body form but my foot work needs work. I need to keep from doing that "starfish" move and just dip under the bar.

then videoed my last round of the metcon which was

5 rounds
5 135lb power cleans
15 70lb swings

Total workout below

Hang Clean:
45 lb x 10 reps (+31 pts)
115 lb x 5 reps (+43 pts)
135 lb x 5 reps (+49 pts)
155 lb x 3 reps (+45 pts)
155 lb x 3 reps (+45 pts)
155 lb x 3 reps (+45 pts)
170 lb x 2 reps (+42 pts)

Chin-Up:
5 reps || weighted || 30 lb (+45 pts)
5 reps || weighted || 30 lb (+45 pts)
5 reps || weighted || 30 lb (+45 pts)

Power Clean:
135 lb x 5 reps (+49 pts)
135 lb x 5 reps (+49 pts)
135 lb x 5 reps (+49 pts)
135 lb x 5 reps (+49 pts)
135 lb x 5 reps (+49 pts)

Two-Arm Kettlebell Swing:
70 lb x 15 reps (+47 pts)
70 lb x 15 reps (+47 pts)
70 lb x 15 reps (+47 pts)
70 lb x 15 reps (+47 pts)
70 lb x 15 reps (+47 pts)

you just land on your toes with the clean. you are scared of falling backwards or something.

i think watching the kb video many be able to help your cleans. think of "bending outside of a window" before your pull. you are almost standing straight up with your knees bent when you pull. you are skipping half of the movement. need more hip thrust, and the same with your kb swings. but at least you arent one of those guys that do kn swings that bend their knees and bush up everytime they swing. makes me wanna blow my brains out

I need you fuuckers to come workout with me and show me these things. It's so hard to change when I'm not being told on the spot.

Don't move you feet outward. More hip thrust and extension onto your toes. I get a serious calf workout from cleans.
