idle surges when clutch pedal is depressed

I have a 2001 330ci with manual trans and 98k miles. Today while i was waiting at the stop light i kept depressing my clutch pedal for no reason. While i was doing this i noticed that everytime i let off the pedal my idle would go from 600rpm to about 700-800rpm. This happens everytime I let go of the clutch pedal I just never noticed it before. I didnt have my A/C on either. The car idles fine and never has any kind of surging problems other than what i think is the vanos seals symptoms. Does anyone have any idea of what can be causing this? I cant figure out how the clutch pedal would be affecting engine idle.

Possibly in need of a reprogram, also check your disa valve.

That's normal.

That's just the icv and VANOS doing it's job.

i replaced my DISA about 3k miles ago.
does the dealer reprogram?

It's 100% normal. When your idling and stopped the icv closes further and he VANOS is tuned for lower emissions and loser gas consumption. When you press inthe clutch; switches are triggered letting the car know you are about to take of hence bumping up the revs and changing VANOS timing for easier take of and improved torque.
