All that you say is true. But, like I said, there's a difference between defending yourself and crackin' skulls. I would have done the same (the slap, even using the weapon) up until he started going ape $hit with the club. After the third swing they were both down and co-workers were coming in to help regulate. That was self-defense. After they get back up, dude just sees red and swings away every time they try and stand. That's assault.

I'm not saying what he did was wrong. I'm saying what he did at the end was wrong. People can't be shocked when the guy gets more severe punishment than the two scumbags. Sure, they started/escalated a situation but, if he would of handled the situation instead of "finishing them", guy would be out of jail and sleeping at home tonight and going to work tomorrow.

Or a fractured skull. One or the other for sure, though.

You think people that do this stuff as adults actually learn from their experience? I would like to think they'll learn some humility from this, but

BTW, it sure looks like they instigated it, he retaliated, then they escalated it and he escalated it even further. It seems to me that they're at least half responsible, if not more.

Grammo-raptor wants to know if you're asking if it would have happened if it happened?

I agree that's the way the law will see it.

But in the real world, if he let them get up, and they went out to the car to get a gun and came back in and shot his ass, this whole board would be posting "what an idiot, why didn't he beat them until they couldn't get up?"

i think there's something in the law for heat of the moment-type self-defense until the situation boils over. it's not so easy to just turn off your emotions when two crazy ghetto b1tches jumped your counter and threatened to hurt you. i cant front like i might not have done the same thing. if they didnt follow my demands to stay down on the ground, i might hit them over the head too

you guys are making worthless arguments. you can say whatever you want but the judge will decide not based on public's opinions.

Imagine, you did something like that and confront the judge by saying 'oh btw e46fanatics.com members support my argument' LOL WTF?
