Hey Evan, you develop some of your stuff at Sammy's, right? How much do they charge?

ive only gotten one roll of B/W developed at samys...i believe it was like $9 just to have them scan them onto a CD at their lowest res scan option. theyre still decent size around like 3000x2000 give or take. it gets more expensive the larger res you want. i dont think color was that much more expensive...

That's outrageous. They charge more for clicking a button to get higher resolution?

I would imagine when determining resolution on a scanner it can't be more than selecting it from a menu. Enlighten me.

On CCD scanners, it can take as long as 10x more time to scan the negatives at a high resolution vs lower resolutions. That extra time could be used to scan other negatives for other people - it's called opportunity cost. That's another reason for an increased price.

^ That dog's face/expression has an almost human quality LOL.
Spent a few days in NYC last week with a Mamiya 6. The 1st is expired Portra 160VC (2005) pushed to 400. The 2nd is Ilford Delta 400: ![]() Last edited by Beach_Bum; 01-03-2012 at 10:49 AM. |

I've found a local shop that has TONS of old film cameras for sale. Any suggestions on what to look for? I think I want something essentially all manual short of the light meter.
