Well I was driving home from work, at night, on the freeway. Went to change lanes, looked over my shoulder to check my blind spot. When I looked forward, I saw a glimpse of some debris in the road as I drove right over it. Heard some horrific sounds, felt my car shake everywhere, and then the debris got thrown out from under my car. I was able to drive home okay. When I got home, I found the damage. Must have been a chunk of steel or something because it punched a hole right through the upper frame rail. Destroyed the fender liners, bumper mounts, fender, headlight mount and more.

Made my insurance claim. Not even a 5 days have gone by and its already torn down at the body shop. Estimate if almost 5k! Good news is ladies and gentlemen. I a getting a full BMW OEM Mtech II front bumper

Well, just went through every page of this thread. Stance isn't my taste, but there is no question to your attention to detail and quality of work. The high-res photos and tech tips on maintenance items were very helpful, thank you. Sorry about your car, glad you are okay and thread bookmarked.

Doesn't the mtech II hang down a bit farther than stock in front? It seemed to me that it did when I was putting my jack under it a few weeks ago on the install.

Awesome thread. Clean E46, meticulously maintained and documented. Those pictures from your shift bushing install will be invaluable to me when I get around to doing mine. Keep doing what you do and post more of these awesome detailed DIYs! Your pictures are awesome too.
