Is there any way to quickly scroll through artists/playlists or do you still have to click down one by one?

lol...I agree. I have the factory 19s. Last year, I was going to get a set of 18s just for the winter with snow tires, but I found some Michelin Pilot Sport All-Seasons that are amazing. I would try them first before investing in a whole new set of tires. Their summer performance is great and so is their tread life.

I apologize for this OT post, It was meant to be somewhere else.

I have a second set of rims, I rather do that and not be staggered for winter. So I'll get winter/snow tires.

OP/mods, feel free to remove these off topic posts.

The unit in this thread seems to glow yellow around the knobs and buttons as opposed to orange like it appeared in the V5. Is this the lighting in the pics, of is it very off from the stock orange?

Color is exactly as before and a perfect match. It's just the effect of trying to take a pic of a lighted object.

How do I turn off sound on the radio if I want to play sound on the Android side? Right now, if let's say I am watching a YouTube video on Android, radio noise comes through. I can turn the volume knob down to 01, and the Android volume up, but I can still hear it a little bit.

Change the "navi sound" setting in the RADIO settings menu. Set the android volume at 2/3 and use the volume knob to control volume.

This might be a silly question, but worth asking for this purchase.
Is the android version compatable with iphones? (music, Bluetooth, album art. ext)

I'm interested in the sound quality mainly around the "hiss" experienced in older versions. Let me know... This might be my christmas gift to myself

The "hiss" you are referring to was the problem I solved over a year and a half ago by installing a Line Output Converter in cars equipped with an oem amp, it was long before I was a dealer and was adressed by dynavin shortly after I came up with the fix. The units now have the "amp" setting in the factory radio settings that does the same thing as the LOC.
In other words....it's old old old news.

I actually had a question about that Jeff, now that you bring it up. In my 2000 323i (non-HK, non-nav), the default setting sounds pretty good. Per your instructions, I changed the amp setting to "common" and the volume dropped drastically. By drastically I mean that maximum volume (64) is a comfortable listen with the windows closed, and borderline inadequate with the windows down at speed. This compared to the Business CD, which got uncomfortable way before it maxed out.

Set to whatever works for you, new new unit are pretty "quiet" when it comes to noise so you don't need to use the "amp" setting if you don't want.

Two questions:
1. Is the GPS antenna directional? My car is not aligned with the map's arrow in any nav program I have used (yes, I unchecked north up, etc).
2. Is there any possible way to turn off the audio mute in reverse? I can't make a phone call before backing out of a parking space because the audio cuts off.

P.S. To anyone interested in offline Android navigation, CoPilot Live does work. If you want to know more about it, check out my other threads. I have a thread going that talks about my experiences with the new Dynavin.

Oh, and Jeff do you have any links to pics of the back-up camera you sell installed? Does it replace the license plate light? I need to get a camera, but I have a laser diffuser bar attached to the top of my rear license plate, so I need to make sure it will have the required clearance.

Jeff,

Did they fix any of the following issues?

1. BT streaming while NAV on screen?
2. Different sources having huge difference in output volume?
3. 2 Folder limitation on the SD/USB?
4. Slow loading of USB media?

1. Yes and no.....by default no, but if you go to the source selection screen first then go to nav it will continue to stream (V5s with newer firware do this too)

2. They seem fairly similar to me....but they of course vary based on source material....bluetooth streaming, like on all devices, seems lower (depends on the phone though)

3. No limitations that I have seen yet.

4. Seems to load pretty fast from what I have seen....
