it is a blend. Not bad, but not good. I would compare it to Crown. It is a good drink but not like a single malt.

If Im drinking scotch all night, going out, or just an everyday scotch, I like Chivas. I'd compare it to a JW black....

Just picked this beauty up...Let me assure you that its is one hell of a good scotch. I like it better than the JW Blue. The bottle is a beauty as well!

No April Fool. Picked it up in London. I dont think they sell it in the US. I like it better than the JW Blue. It was just a very well balanced, full bodied scotch...One of my top 5 for sure.

Working through the Laphroaig currently, I'm getting used to the Islay flavours. Very rich, indeed. Gonna try the Aberlour next.

Here's my current rotation. In the middle of a move so I had to snap a pic. How is that Macallan?

BTW, the Aberlour is VERY different than the Laphroigs. If you like sherry cask scotches you'll love it. Its similar to the cherry cask Macallan or Glenmorangie...

Also, the cask strength Aberlour ( A'Bunadh) is the strongest scotch I've ever had. 60% alch!

Um, need pics to verify. Lol.

I know this is a scotch thread- but does anybody here sip good dark rum? I've recently been enjoying the Eldorado rums- the 12YR is decent. The 15 is amazingly smooth, and the 21 is a touch better.

There's a huge difference going from the $35 12YR bottle to the $60 15YR, and a marginal (to me) difference, but a huge increase in price to the $110 21YR.

The Macallan is a family favourite of ours. It's so good and priced reasonably to consume often. However, it's been taking a backseat to Cardhu. I can't get enough of that.

I've yet to crack the Aberlour. Will report back once I do.

After spending some time in Venezuela, I really became a fan of their rums.

My favorite rum is Santa Teresa 1796. Its pretty reasonably priced and very rich, almost like a cognac.

I just finished my bottle of Dalmour. I actually really enjoyed it. Haven't had the cigar malt pour that came with mine, saving that for my wedding night with my wedding cigar.

Can't say I've ever heard of Clynelish...?
