Please, stay safe.
to get into scotch try the johnny walker swing (about 65$) very smooth slightly sweet in the front like a bourbon and mildly smoky in the back. a good starter scotch to get acquainted to scotch or afternoon sipping scotch.
my fave by far is the bruichlladich 12 year if u can find it.
good cheap blend i would say are famous grouse or dewars for an everyday scotch.

What are you guys drinking?

For me, the following:

Oban 14 year
Johnny Green

On less expensive nights

Johnny Black on the rocks, splash of Perrier
Laphroaig 10 year... smokey as a bastard, great for the money
Glenmorangie 12

If you had a sip of Johnny Blue once, congratulations. This thread need not apply to your e-balling and stupidity for bragging about a bottle that any actual scotch drinker can agree is about $100 overpriced.
How the F have we not hung out before? Damn kids! HA! I am scotch FIEND yo. I always have a bottle of something, it's my only choice pretty much of hard liquor, except some nice Hendricks G&T's or Bombay Saphirre in the summer. My staple inexpensive is Macllelend's Highland Single Malt. I LOVE that stuff. Highland is much smoother than the smokey and peaty speyside or lowland. BOMB scotch right there. I was on the johnnie walker wagon awhile back because they invited me to free tastings in boston all the time, nothing like a GOOD HARD Scotch drunk! I never got sick off that, hard drunk, but never sick. It was amazing. I once got the VERY small bottle of blue for my birthday from my sis, I think it was about $75! I agree total waste. Johnnie Black is in my heart though, and Green and Gold are both lucious, but hardly worth the price compared to some other single malts. Oban is nice, you are a lucky man if you're sippin that!

MMMM, scotch and cigar tonight by my dedicated firepit in the back yard made from stones from Horseneck Beach? it just might be a good idea! Rough day at work!

Finally finished the last of the Balvenie 21 YO I had in my decanter; last dram seemed especially full bodied and sweet. I just picked up three bottles of Balvenie's 12 YO Signature Triple Barrel, 4th batch. I'll crack it open this weekend to sample it and add a bottle to my stable.

I was in Central America this weekend and was hoping to find something good in the Duty Free (especially another of the 1824 Collection, only ran into the Select Oak so far) but no luck. They did have an OK deal on Glenfiddich 18 YO, but you can still find it cheaper in California.

Heyyoooooooooooooooooooooooooo ya man, well guess what, we are meeting up for a scotch and a cigar before it gets too cold. Hell come down to providence, we can go to cigar masters or tamany hall (awesome bar food.)
