Thumbs Up SUMMER TIME IS COMING - Get your HPF High Performance Fan Clutch

The single most common reason E46 M3's overheat is due to the permature failure of the factory fan clutch. When a fan clutch has failed you can literally stop the fan on a running engine with your hand. (DON'T TRY THIS YOURSELF) We've replaced these on so many cars it isn't even funny. Order the HPF High performance fan clutch today and get it in before it gets too hot.

(01-06) BMW M3 $134.95

Cost is about the same as a OEM one.
Go for it or do an electrical fan swap.

The factory fan clutches go out and the cars start to overheat. I recommend the upgraded fan because the clutch is tighter. Every M3 should get one.

Chris.

My car is 10 years Old and I still havnt needed to replace the clutch, I cant believe it, my 2.5 even stays alot cooler then other HPF cars, its weird, maybe my temp sensor is wrong. Ill prolly get one of these just so i dont have mine go out on me.

I've never had cooling issues in the past 5 years (01 N/A,116K miles), couple of years a go I started to notice that the car runs cooler, the coolant temp needle points lower than the mid mark(at 11 O'clock) most of the time which is weird especially in our climate, I thought it was a sticky thermostat, replaced it, same issue.

Well, yesterday the Water Pump decided to give up on my way to work, so now I'm doing a cooling system overhaul, BMW has a new updated Water Pump which is different than my '01 pump, some members who had the same issue reported that with this new Pump the coolant temp stays in the middle like it should all the time.

I dont pretend to be versed in all things FI. but in my NA experiance a good spal Electric fan is a much better investment thana fan clutch especially at this price. You can get a 16" spal and kit from Bimmerworld for 120 bucks and install it. Super easy to do the conversion and I believe its 2200CFM so it keeps things nice and cool. Did the job on my e30 the stock fan (with a good clutch) never could.
