If you don't want ABS, DSC, or traction control. What else is controlled by the CANBUS?

My car already only has the former of the 3, and I live with it just fine.

If you really suck at driving, then yea, I guess you'll need it.

Non-essential luxuries. I'd like to have air conditioning, but that's about it. I could do without ABS since I keep my distance from everyone anyway. Traction control, DSC... yeah... I've never had the systems engage and I felt like I was pushing the car pretty hard.

S54 or LS1?

If having to choose from the three, I'd take ABS every time.

None of this means that your engine isn't trashed. It was just bad form on his part, and makes it seem shady.
+1. Totally agree. That tech has his own agenda.

I don't have ASC. 95s are the last year that M3s didn't have it. I don't mind it at all.

I daily drive with 255s in the rear, and unless I'm trying to, they won't break loose. On the track, it's all about your smoothness. If you're a good enough driver, you shouldn't need any sort of traction control/stability control.

I'm pondering a motor swap on my car.

It's either S54, Euro S52, or LS2.

I've made many comparisons and pro/con lists, and the Chevy wins every time...

As you know yore Insurance will go up all depending how much you declare.

What I would recomend Is have a private evaluator evaluate the car give him a brownie 100$ bill extra so he could raise the valued price , Fax or hand that over to youre Insurance company.

Again If stolen or damged you have a value of the car,There for you wont loose out.

I had my car evaluated , Gave the guys an extra brownie and my car stands at 16k
16k cad for a 323i??? What, was that brownie filled with ganja or something?

get the car checked by someone else, something doesnt seem right.

Impressive can do that swap for you, and the price has gone up to 7k. They have to have a donor car already there though. You get engine, tranny, all computers, harness etc for the price.

Your car is not even worth $10,500 in excellent and running condition. Find a place that will do an engine swap for less or take the money and buy something else.
