Before I got my rims and tires I searched for months and months! For that price range for both rims and tires it's hard to find anything out there, especially for 19" wheels. Your best bet is Ebay or bring the wheel size down to 18".

In the end I ended up going with 19" VMR V710's and Hankook Ventus V12's.

Ended up costing me $1900 total. I recommend that you either save up a while longer and get what you really want or go with 18".

What is your zip code? I will find you a set for that price, also for tires, do you want summer or all-terrain's?

$1300 for wheels and tires? I hate to say it, but you'll have to buy both so cheap I'm not sure it'd be an upgrade.

you would think at that price you would be a little weary of the quality of rims you are purchasing, no? or is that not important?

This! Absolutely! Like I said OP, I shopped around for months and for the lowest price but amazing quality I went with VMR. Their rims are very durable and the finish is great.

Other than that you are looking at putting up serious cash for a good set of rims.

check tirerack.com. you might be able to find some 18" for that price. for rubber get hankook v12 evo's. im on my third set and i love em ( especially at 100 per tire it's a steal ). when i was in highschool i bought my current setup montegi mr118 17" from tirerack and i think i paid 1200 shipped. if i had to do it over though i'd save up longer and buy some VMR's for modbargains. its worth the wait. a set of vb3's is like $800 if im correct and hankook rubber is like 4-500 so that should be close to your budget. if you dont have it, wait until u do. (i wish i would have). buying used from a fanatic in the classifieds is an option too if you want to save some money. Good Luck

I currently have 18's on the car, I want to switch back to 19's so I have been doing some research over the past month so I will give you my recommendation. . In order to stay in your price range you will have to go with a square set up, meaning all wheels the same width (non-staggered) this will keep the wheel and tire cost lower. I like the look of these wheels:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/19-BMW-E36-E...ht_2695wt_1916

The cost for these M3 Replica wheels + shipping is $669.88.

Since I dont know where you live, I am guessing based on your profile you live in Virgina? I am also not sure if you want summer tires or need all season tires, so I am guessing summer. These numbers are based on that.

For tires I would recommend Falken FK-452 235/35/19 (4). I have actually had these tires before and I thought they worked great. They are not the cheapest thing out there but still are a great value. The key to getting tires is finding a place where there is no sales tax and shipping is the cheapest. Several "cheap" online tires stores have about the same price the tire, its just finding a place that will ship it to you the cheapest. If you are in Virgina, I would buy them from this site: http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.p...hen=View+tires

The price is $148 per tire and $41.52 for shipping. Total $634.32

Tire + wheel cost = 1,304.20

That is $4.20 over your budget, however you will still have to take into consideration tire mounting and balancing. This is where some work is involved. call around to every tire shop in your area and get a firm quote on what it would be to mount your new tires. For example I have found a place by me that mounts and balances for $10/per wheel. Call used tire sellers and ghetto places. I would suppose you can get this done for $60 or less if you put some effort into scouting out a place.

Total cost: 1364.20

Now you could probably knock off $100 the price if you go with the cheapest tires available, Its not worth it. This set up is for a good set of tires.

I have purchased a set of tires from them last year. I ordered from them and a week latter the tires were on my door step. No problems at all. good service, even though it sounds like their call center is located in india, but hey, it makes their tires cheaper!!

Ultimately its about being happy about the wheels you have on your car. your talking and extra $150 for the VMR Vb3s, it may be worth it, but take into consideration the increased cost for a wider tire for the rear.

I agree they are a great place to buy tires, however because Onlinetires.com is located in Southern California the shipping cost would be alittle higher because our boy here is on the east coast. thats why I recommended www.tire-easy.com. I have ordered tires from both sites, and both have worked out great. The biggest variable in the total cost is the shipping so just go with who can get them to your for the lowest total cost.
