is this an HPDE? why don't you have an instructor? from the :30 i watched you seem to come in too hot causing oversteer, much safer to late apex and push exit...my0.02

My Ride: '02 Mini, '13 FR-S
Was asked to drive my buddy's new 911 Turbo S at Mid Ohio this past Thursday. Wanted to help him hit his lines a little better, but traffic was just effing terrible. it was an SCCA Majors event that weekend, so there were LOTS of fast cars/drivers in the advanced group. You can tell I was taking it super easy on the car since, well, after tax it's almost 6 years salary for me. The carbon brakes were the hardest part to trust. Still hit 153 on the back straight.

These videos are awesome. Just set everything up to use mine on my mountain bike this weekend and I'll be ordering ECS' headrest mount sometime in the near future. Can't wait to see how slow I am on my bike and in my car lol

Yes it is an HPDE.
I've never been to an HPDE with instructors available. (Have been to 4 different group events).
Yes i was coming in hot on a lot of the turns, was using the turn to scrub off some speed (brakes were fading), and as you said, provoke a little oversteer.

Once i get my brakes in order, i'll focus on my line.

What organizations are you running with?

Bringing in too much speed or fading brakes is not an excuse to be off line. If anything, I would argue that taking a better line would preserve your brakes better.

Anyway, this isn't the place to discuss, but I definitely think you should find an org with instructors.

GoPro BMW Integration

If you have a 2012 or newer BMW with BMW Apps this is one of the coolest integrations ever. I got a chance to play with it while reviewing the 2015 BMW M3 and M4 and would highly recommend getting BMW apps for this feature if you like to take GoPro footage while driving.

Read more about the BMW iDrive GoPro integration - http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=1041336

This is me in like 5 more years.

"Oooh, cool GoPro, what do you shoot with it?"

"Surfing, mostly."

"Wicked! Big wave surfing?"

"Internet surfing."

So your driver was pretty happy about that, huh?

When I did an advanced class at Bondurant a long time ago, the only other student in the class was one of the Sauter brothers. I think it was Johnny, but it could have been Tim. It's been so long, I can't remember, although it was pretty cool at the time. He'd only run ovals and wanted some training on road courses so he could do well at Watkins Glen and Sears Point when the time came. I had some road racing experience and had been on the tracks we used before, so the first day, we were pretty even, but by the second day, I couldn't keep up with him anymore. It was clear who was a pro driver and who was a tire salesman.

The supposition is the thieves weren't smart enough to know what a GoPro is, both in terms of what it's worth and how high-resolution the evidence against them would be.

That's funny - my driver was actually Johnny's tire changer for the last 2 years, and up through Daytona this year (quit to go back racing himself).

No...he wasn't thrilled at all. I thought I edited that out.... fixed!
