Really want a 2012 Wrangler...Is there something wrong with me?

It's crush (officially discontinued.) Listen, how many people bought, and STILL buy e90s with the fun fuel pump? The powertrain warranty on a Wrangler is 50K/5years. If anything was going to happen, it would happen in the first 10000 miles. I got a smoking deal on an 8 year, 120,000 warranty, so I have nothing to worry about. If you are REALLY that nervous, wait for the 2013s. They are adding a few extra features (nothing major) but the BIG rumor is the CRD Diesel might be coming over state side. They are also talking about doing a Mopar special (ie Hemi), which is the only way I will trade mine in for a new one.

A wrangler with a HEMI?!?! Sign me up.

Pshh, a wrangler with a diesel engine? I want that!

Personally, a diesel Wrangler is more appealing to me than a hemi. Much more useful, especially after a little tuning. 300hp with 500-600tq would be awesome.

The jeep wrangler is a sick whip. Obviously you better get the manual. I love wrangler and their great cars

Another 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited owner piping in. We have had ours since Nov 15, 2011 a Sahara in Dozer Yellow and have loved all 15,000kms we've put on it. Finally switched to the soft top this weekend, and love having the two tops. Can't say enough good things about this. Don't forget to wave

I guess we can save that debate for another time...never mind the fact that 2012s are far better with the nice Mercedes transmission, and the fact that an auto is much more useful offroad.

Nice! I didn't get the dual top because I knew I'd never use the soft one. I just pop my hardtop off if I know the day is going to be nice.

wow jeep looks nice! i agree with your original decision on buying a 4x4 (potholes, car dings, etc). i prefer driving my mom ML over my car sometimes since i know the roads in staten island are AWFUL and i hate having to drive slow over bumps or do the strategic driving (even though my tires are somewhat meaty - suspension is what I'm more worried about!)

I'm thinking about ripping out my carpet and putting a rubberized liner down.

If you are going to do this, get colormatched line-x. It costs more, but worth every penny.

I ended up getting 2 U-Pol Raptor kits (one for my Wrangler JK and one for my girlfriend's Wrangler TJ). We laid down hers this weekend and I could not be happier with the result. It looks great and is rock solid.

All we had to do was remove the seats, prep the area by sanding with low grit sanding blocks, tape off what we wanted, and apply two coats of the stuff 60 minutes apart. If anyone is going to do this themselves I highly recommend they get earplugs to plug the threading for bolts, 3' rolls of brown painters paper and a buttload of painters tape.
