Do the units for Europe differ hardware wise from the US units? I know that in the past importing car audio equipment from the US caused problems with FM reception, RDS support and suchlike. If I was to buy a Dynavin from one of the US suppliers would it be identical in every respect to the unt I'd receive if I waited for the UK suppliers to get sorted?

I got the Audi units late friday, I didnt have much time to play with them but initial impressions are good, I like that the D99 has large on screen buttons, good for the car environment. The new radio and phone screens look great, media player screens and nav (both android and WinCE) are the same as the D95s. I paired it with my iphone and the phonebook worked with alphabetical search, Since it was an audi unit on the test bench I obviously couldnt try out things like the OBC and PDC functions. Ill need more time to figure out all the ins and outs of the units but overall my first impression is pretty positive. Ill try to put a few pics up in the next couple days.

Sorry Jeff but you said the media screens are the same as D95, does that mean no album artwork?

Excellent news - thanks for the info. A mini-review or something would be gratefully received.

You say you didnt try the media interface - have you tried the Ipod interface? It looks completely new in the dynavin pictures.

The major companies still produce market specific audio equipment.

android is fine. Could be faster, and i`m working on a new rom too. It have a 500 mhz processor ( not 600 as they advertise , but i can make it work at 600 ), 256 ram, about 120 free all the time, and about 100 mb internal memory. Is still very buggy if you are a power user and need lots of stuff, if you only need navigation and music you are fine.

It's not possible to have an integrated SiriusXM tuner in the Dynavin, as there's no hw interface for it. You basically have two options:

1) Run the SiriusXM Android app and stream over the internet
2) use a plug-and-play tuner, connected to the aux input or antenna. You would then tune channels on this additional unit.

I went with option 1, but rarely use it thanks to Pandora for music and MP3 downloads of O&A.

Just received email and sent confirmation to purchase next week when I get my invoice, oh man tough decision, dynavin or manual swap, manual swap will be way more fun but also 1000 more total. Ughhh...I hate making decisions, somebody tell me this is the greatest device ever for my bimmer and I have no choice but to buy myself an early christmas gift.
