Need to get a tow bar for my X5 E70

Hi All,

I bought an E70 X5 SD and I need to get an Tow Bar installed. BMW have Quoted $4k installed !! The actual Kit is $1600 and the rest is labour as they need to reprogram the car to tell it is has a tow bar apparently.

I know some of you here have X5's and I was wondering if you know which is the best forum for X5's in Australia and or if you have any advice around the tow bars.

Cheers

Seldo

If the local guys can't do it, just call around the dealers and try play them off each other. My mate just got his missus a Cayenne and is going through the same thing as modules are required etc- but that's only about 2.5k

Hey mate,

Try Hills Eurohaus in Castle Hill, Sydney. They would be more than happy to help you out, just quote my user name and he will look after you, Speak to Ozzy or Oscar.

Good luck with it all.

Have a look at the below site as an Example, They sell Tow Bars for E70 X5, and there is a option to chose a wiring kit with some kind of Bypass. Im guessing the bypass unit would Bypass the PDC sensors when reversing and possibly if you have auto levelling air suspension?

http://www.pfjones.co.uk/bmw-x5-deta...-e70-2007.html

Someone mentions in the 3rd post of the below thread that the used the Bypass unit..
