Diagnoses Needed *vid included* Bad Valve Guides?

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy there to basically what is the "na forum" lol

I think my valve guides are going! On engine braking my car burns oil. I changed my CCV and all the hoses applicable to them. I have already checked my connections to make sure they are tight. I have also changed the VCG. Yet my car still smokes.

Do you guys have any other possible ideas of things that it could be?

My whole thing is that i don't think it's the valve guides because of the amount of oil, and because my car is only at 128k. but i have no clue where else to look.

here is the video. it gets to be very evident @ 40 seconds, 1 minute, and 1.15 but you can see me burn oil the whole way down if you really look at it.

to set the scene of the video, i'm in 5th gear all the way down, engine braking @ maybe 1500-2000rpm. when you see the big puffs, it's when i get on the gas a little.

p/s i don't usually burn oil normally on the street, er should i say, not as noticeable as this video.

thanks for the help,

-Raj

VCg has nothing to do with it.

It could possibly be valve guides but until you get a leakdown you wont necessarily know. It could also be a number of things, from a simple vaccum leak preventing your CCV from properly functioning causing an abnormal crank case pressure, to worn out piston rings.

You need to start by eliminating the easiest and less expansive things from the list. Check each and every vaccum line to and from CCV and your intake mani as well as vanos lines, get a leakdown , get a different oil in there (i dont know what youre using now so I cant say, but go from Castrol to some expensive oil like Royal Purple 5W40, Motul 300v 5w40) .

Just pray its not your piston rings, everything else is cheap and easy to replace.
