!Substantial Oil Leak Traced to CCV System ?? !

Our '02 has been leaking a small amount of oil for some time now. I would say that, I was adding 1 qt. every 5K. Last month I noticed a big increase in the amount of oil being deposited on our garage floor. The underside of the engine is pretty wet.

I discovered that the pipe to valve cover was broken (part # 11611432559). When I got ready to order it I started seeing info about "kits", and how everything should be replaced, etc. etc.

So... I have a couple of questions. (1) Is it reasonable to assume that this broken line could be what's dropping so much oil out? [Guess if the leak stops after I do this job I've answered my own question]. (2) Should I order the "kit" (part # ending in 237)? I'm on a tight budget right now to be honest. (3) Related to #2 - there are cheaper kits that do not include the breather. Is that o.k. or should I stick to the full kit?

CCV job is much easier if you do OFHG at the same time.

The kit will save you money in the long run.

Read the DIYs on here.
