Oil Dipstick Tube Removal

I'm doing the CCV kit DIY and, although tedious it hasn't been horrible so far. I can't get the dipstick tube removed. I ended up skipping that part, then coming back to it. According to the DIY I am using, you remove the tube by pulling (it) straight up. It ain't budging. If I read Bentley's right, there's a hex bolt that needs to come off as well but I'm really struggling to get at it. So far I've just tried going in from above and using a socket wrench in that limited space. Can anyone confirm that the tube is indeed secured, and, if so* how best to get at that bolt?

The hex bolt is on the back side of the engine support. It's easiest to get to the bolt from the top once the intake boots are removed. I'd imagine you could get it out with the intake boots in, but it'd be tougher. Not sure how helpful it would be to remove the shield around the wiring etc, but I had mine out and everything seemed a lot more spacious. Then it's just a little twisting and pulling up to pop it out. I think the tougher part is getting that tube back in and seated properly without pinching the o-ring. I ended up sliding the o-ring about halfway onto the guide tube, then reached down with a flat head screwdriver to press the o-ring down all the way around. Once the o-ring is pressed in with the flat head, it easily slides in the rest of the way. You'll know it's in all the way when the hex head bolt will screw back into the engine support.
